World Of Goo Birthday Sale "A Huge Success"
10
Developer 2D Boy has branded a week-long 'pay what you want' promotion for PC and WiiWare title World Of Goo "a huge success" after the game sold 57,000 copies at an average price of $2.03.
The promotion saw sales of the game on Steam up 40 per cent week-on-week, while WiiWare sales rose nine per cent. 2D Boy said that the amount people were willing to pay for the game went up as the days went by before levelling off.

1 - Great game
The game was great. Although I already had a Windows version, I bought the game again from their own store for a Linux copy.
This was really a completely polished product. Congrats to 2D boy for such an awesome indie work.

I purchased the game twice. Once for $5...and a second time for a penny after I learned I couldn't download it. The servers are still busy and I still don't have my games. :-/

Paid $ 5.00 for my copy. Don't mind giving a couple of bucks to the cause.

7 - Awesome
Glad to see this campaign was a success... I just* got a Wii after all this time and was finally able to play this game. Amazing how this downloadable title can compete with full priced/packaged games. Expansion packs!
Congrats to 2D Boy.

8.1 - not really
that's $160 that the developer would not have gotten
And a much better chance of selling "world of goo 2" at full price
