PlanetSide Sequel Named: PlanetSide Next

Gaming Union writes "We already knew that Sony Online Entertainment was working on a sequel to PlanetSide. However, up until this point, there was no confirmed name for the title. Sony have decided to break the silence and announce that the next game in the PlanetSide franchise will be called, PlanetSide Next."

My computer gamer friend says that all he played during highschool was the original Planet Side.

It is nice to hear what the game will be called. I can't wait to play this. I also wonder what the chances of PlanetSide Next are coming out on the PS3.

I loved PlanetSide (after I leveled up).

It was so fun to pick what you wanted to do and the world was so vast.

I really enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, I didn't have it, but my friend did (for the 30 day free trial) because he didn't like it so much, I guess he got tired of being pwned because he was at a low level.

Anyway, if they build off the concept, it "will" be epic.

it's probably going to stay on the PC. i can't see planetside competing against MAG on the ps3.

Except it wouldn't REALLY be competing. I mean they'd be very similar games for sure, but no more so than Killzone 2 and Resistence are similar. Besides, MMOs are the next "step" in console games and Planetside would be a great way of Sony sticking it to Microsoft.

Mag would have nothing on a planetside sequel

But ya it would be for the pc. Planetside I believe is 330vs330

a nex-gen sequel would probably up the amount.

I think Free to Play for PS3 and PC would be awesome. Many MMOs are fitting into this trend for PC and PS3 anyway from Sony. If its free to play/ad supported or something. I would gladly jump into it.

I hope its free to play/ad supported, more MMOs need to take this route.

You wouldn't really be able to do it without really badly dumbing down everything.

9 - God I hope this fails
I love Sony hardware, but SOE is the biggest bunch of money grubbing bastards in the world, and can't make a MMO to save their life anymore. EQ was epic, EQ2 was good, Galaxies was fail, Matrix was Epic fail, and many more fails along with them.
