Fan-restored KOTOR II content creates refined, expanded game

It started a few years ago when someone discovered some missing content in the PC version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II The Sith Lords. They took it upon themselves to to go into the game's files and restore some of the data on their own. Then, someone else encountered a serious bug in the same title and started using the first person's work to fix the problem. From then on, it was like the snowball that gradually turned into an avalanche. The result was a large-scale project that was aimed at bringing as much missing content as possible back to the game.

1 - Wish we were getting Kotor 3
Mass Effect is great as its own property, but there is definitely room for a new KOTOR on consoles. Nice to see that the franchise is somewhat branching out into the MMO world, but a full blown console for the PS3/360 would sell big. Seems like a missed opportunity there.

Eh, forget MMOs. I like SP.

I'd gladly have another KOTOR on my PC from either Bioware or Obsidian. They should at least finish out the story. "And they never returned" is weak.

Obsidian has said that they really want to do KOTOR 3. I'd love to see them do it, they clearly had a vision and I feel like they could make an amazing KOTOR 3 with a full development cycle. I'm confident that Bioware will explain what happened in TOR, but that's the problem for me-- they'd just be explaining what happened through a "timeline" video or a side quest or something. I don't want to just hear about what happened to Revan and the Exile, I want to PLAY what happened. The KOTOR games made you feel like your player was the most important person in the universe through the events of the game, and that your actions would change things forever. It's going to be hard to make an MMO player feel that when there's 100,000 other people making the exact opposite choices in the universe at the same story points.

What would've been awesome is a persistent online single-player KOTOR 3, where the devs are constantly adding story and material to a massive single-player game world where each player truly is the most important person in the universe. I'm going to get TOR, but I honestly would've preferred a single-player KOTOR 3 with absolutely no updates in graphics and mechanics from the 1st two than an MMO.

People love KOTOR 1 and 2. It is very clear of that just look at what they are doing with this content. KOTOR 3 should come even with TOR coming along. They said its 200 or 300 years after KOTOR 2 anyway. So there is plenty of room for KOTOR 3. I hope Obsidian does get to do it. Hopefully it will be for PC only though. :P
