2 - the best
Half Life 2 is possibly the best first person shooter ever made, Only Half Life 1 compares but you really had to play it when it came out as it's not aged very well.

This is the one I'm really looking forward to http://www.youtube.com/watc... its a mod for HL2 that recreates the original game but in the source engine (hopefully one day it will get a release)

System Shock 2 is far better than HL 1 AND 2. Also, HL1 is still leagues better than 2. HL2 has its moments, but I don't agree with the rest of the world that it is a masterpiece.

it IS a masterpiece. Like it or not is different, but when someone asks me for a first FPS to play i'm going HL², not system shock.

Even if SS was asesome, don't get me wrong

System shock 2 is one of those games that represents the major disparity between concept art and final product. The concept art for System Shock 2 is actually closer to what the interior of the USG Ishimura looks like in Dead Space than what it looks like System Shock 2. I'm actually looking forward to a full remake of system shock 2, not just a bioshock successor.

I'm with you zagibu, Half Life 2 is solid but not excellent. Way too many "antlions", mediocre/repetitive driving sequences, and not enough shootouts with PEOPLE. (I got so sick of shooting headcrabs and antlions over and over.) Plus the gravity gun was such an unneccessary gimmick, they clearly just wanted to show off their new physics/engine.

The best part about the game was City 17 and nowhere near enough time was spent there. It seems to me like Valve focused much more on the technical aspects of HL2 than the actual story progression and gameplay.

Don't get me wrong parts of it were great, but Half Life 1's campaign was vastly superior.
