$100 for a first person shooter? How about $0?

Flytrap: "With 'controversy' around the expected £55 price hike of this year's biggest first person shooter, Modern Warfare 2, (as well as talk from games industry bigwigs that games prices need to increase to £70 - well over a hundred dollars), it should come as welcome relief to know that there are some FPS games out there that cost Sweet Fanny Adams."

1.2 - For me, I've decided
If MW2 doesn't show support for the PS3 with HOME gaming space or any HOME support for MW2 then I'll just buy it used when the price comes down to 20-30bucks. These guys don't need my money so I'll give my $ to someone else that shows proper support to gamers in general and the PS3 fanbase.

2 - Combat Arms
Is this the one that plastered their 'nut shot' ads everywhere? Seems rather childish to me... And that is not a good thing in a multiplayer game. I don't want to play with a bunch of foul mouth 10 year olds who are only playing because they were promised that they could castrate every single thing that moves.

Ugh.

2.1 - but...
Perhaps you didn't understand. Let me reiterate it for you.

They reward you for ballshots.

You understand now, yes?

I think every true FPS gamer should try Combat Arms. I found it pretty good. Graphics may not be upto date but it's fun. I play it once in awhile. And there are tons and tons of servers.

3 - Nah...
People won't bother with it if it's cheap. The thing with some gamers is that, they believe if a game costs more they'll get more content out of it. How the hell is raising a price from $60 to $100 supposed to enhance the game in any way? Maybe for some rich n' spoiled kids, paying more for the same game gives them some sort of twisted satisfaction...

It is funny to even hear suggestions of 100 dollar games when software companies are losing big time right now from lackluster sales. Usually when I buy 60 dollar games, I only buy those that are well reviewed, and even then I feel at least 30% of them weren't worth 60 bucks I spent. I won't go higher than spending 60 bucks on a game, which I already feel is expensive. You finish the games, and you end up with a bunch of 60 dollar drink coasters. I will never have a 100 dollar drink coaster in my house.

5 - Looking at the Combat Arms website...
It doesn't seem that bad of a game. If MW2 doesn't decrease in price or the reviews for the game aren't as good as I hoped, I just might play this instead. I can pretty much get into any shooting type game so it won't be a miss out for me.

6 - They are Buggin
$100.00 for a video game is crazy, and to try to compensate with a free online game for kids....

No Thanks

Maybe for God Of War III collectors edition
