Nice to see they're still good friends after everything.

Yea, Hellgate was a mess. A stain in their careers. But, they seem to be doing fine now, which is a relief.

Roper gets a lot of stick because of Hellgate, but he's clearly a nice guy.

Indeed, seem some horrible comments directed at him. I'm ashamed to be part of the gaming community sometimes.

Polite and nicely worded. I reckon he's right, though - there's enough time between the two that they're not going to hugely impact each other. I reckon Champions might see a drop in subscribers when Marvel comes out, but it may only temporary, in much the same way as WoW loses players for awhile whenever a new MMO comes out.

I really love Bill Roper since his days in Blizzard. Nowadays he still talk about the bad and good of Hellgate, and what he's learned. Still talks and antagonizes the work other former co-workers have done or are doing.

Not sure if that's a good or bad thing though.

I don't think there is room on the market for two super hero mmos!

They should JOIN FORCES for the GREATER GOOD!

There's already City of Heroes/Villains which is still going well. I think there's room for more, people clearly like the genre.

If there wasnt room anyway to begin with (wich obviously isnt the case), we imo pretty much know wich ones would thrives and survive : the two big licences DC and Marvel .

Champion's closest concurrent will be DCU anyway , with the major advantages of thinking about villains and hero vs villains pvp right out of the box , and the appeal of the licence .
