WoW allowing faction changes/switching in the future

World of Warcraft announced via the forums that a service allowing players to switch from Alliance to Horde and vice versa will be implemented in the future. This service will allow you to take a character from one faction and transform it into a similar character of the other faction.

It would be a cool feature if it made the player keep his a dwarf going to horde, stay as a dwarf but be labeled as a traitor to the alliance and have like a %1-%5 stat penalty for like a week because no one would like you. Your original side would hate you because you're a traitor and the new side won't take you in that easily that fast. But, it's a payed service, so, I'm pretty sure they won't implement something like this.

I personally think that's a terrible idea! Seeing as so many WoW players have to do EVERYTHING the game offers and get all the achievements I can imagine so many ppl starting a new character with the intention of moving him/her over to the other side. Next thing u know orgrimmar is full of stupid gnomes, no thanks :)

Or they could just implement cross-faction chat on PvE servers. But they wouldn't make any money off you that way.

That could cause harassment I think. Some WoW players are immature enough to spam members of the opposing faction just because they can.
