Opinion: Fable 2 on the PC is a smart business decision

From Gamertell:

"Money's tight. Even if people's jobs are secure, they're still cutting back. And then there are those who have been the casualties of cut backs. People aren't going to be thinking about spending $200, $300 or $400 on a new console bundle, no matter how much they need an escape.

Fable II for the PC would be the smart thing to do. While people aren't willing to spend an extravagant amount of money on a console, $40 for a game for a computer they already own could be an easier decision to make. It could even be considered a smart decision."

fable is a 1st party MS exclusive. MS makes PCs. MS wants to make as much money as they can. so they send some games to the pc from the xbox in hopes of getting higher sales.

Your money goes to Microsoft either way

I have no problem with 360 exclusives going to PC.

"MS makes PCs"

Incorrect.Microsoft makes the Windows OS which go into most PCs.HP,Dell,Sony, and Gateway are the ones who make money from PC sales based on their PC models.

"Lionhead Studios has repeatedly stated that it is not working on a PC port of Fable II."

*claps for Lionhead*

Sales on xbox were good and if you release it on PC all they will do is download it.

Still, if Microsoft see the potentional for even the smallest of successes on the PC, they will port the game. It's just better business sense.

4 - Why would it be a smart thing?
I mean it will sell well just like the first one did on PC... But this guy expects that there are millions of people dying to try Fable II therefore rushing out if it ever comes out for the PC to buy it.

6 - It will come to PC
Sooner or later... Anyone heard about Mass Effect? Or Gears of War? Those games were never to leave Xbox; and here we are.

Bottom line: the article says the truth. I don't give a damn about Fable 2 while it's on Xbox, I might buy it (probably would) if it comes to PC.

MS hyped the hell out of this game, it's no point keeping it console exclusive. And since PC is excluded from console wars (games are still called exclusive, even though they are on the console and PC; lol to that), it would be nice to have this game.

However, standards for RPGs on PC are much higher, so the PC version must be top notch!

Microsoft gets plenty of money from games released on PC. I mean Halo, Gears, ME, Fable are all associated with MGS so they get the same amount of money as if it was sold on 360........that's all they're doing is trying to make money

Very smart decision. Microsoft has been making money on PC's for decades. That's what they do. They are mainly a software company. So bringing their sweet 360 gaming titles to the PC market just brings in more revenue for Microsoft.

of course it's a smart decision, all console games should come to pc down the track, if the developers are worried about piracy, just release it 6-12 months later on pc, and despite the pirates they'll still get like 100k sales and a few extra million, what's wrong with that, and besides, i'll buy fable 2 on pc ( my gaming platform) so they just got 1 extra legit sale
