WoW Speculation: Gilneas Under Development?

A Blizzard community manager has commented on the content behind a currently-locked part of the World of Warcraft map, sparking off the hottest speculation yet that the lost land of Gilneas will make an appearance in WoW's next expansion.

The timing of the comment couldn't be better, as Blizzard's massive fan event in LA, BlizzCon, is coming up. Is Blizzard gearing up to announce the next WoW expansion?

I remember they talked about Dalaran before WotLK was announced. Fairly certain this means Gilneas in the next expansion.

This is just the last nail in the coffin for me - the wall will be opening!

Alliance might finally get a flight path up that way now, no more long rides to Scarlet Monastery!

Yeah. Still, the expansion can't be ALL about Gilneas, it's just too small.

I wager we'll see Undermine or The Emerald Dream as well :)

Granted, but Metzen was talking about books. However, Blizzard seem to like tying in books with in-game progression. If Gilneas is coming in the books, it's SO going to be in-game.

As far as I'm concerned this is conclusive evidence that Gilneas is coming. A blue wouldn't have posted that if it wasn't coming, no one would believe him in future otherwise.

I will return to WoW for the Emerald Dream(casual). WOTLK does not entice me.

What entices me is the Emerald Dream, for it has a very interesting concept about it.

Supposedly their aim is a mirrored world where the land(Azeroth) is untouched by War and defacement by natural disaster, where the normal monsters are said to be RAID quality-hard.

There's nothing to say that if Gilneas appears in the next expansion, it won't be the Emerald Dream. They normally add loads of content in these updates - in theory it could include the Emerald Dream AND the Maelstrom, though that would be pushing things :P

I just wish they would stop increasing the level cap already or make it easier to level from 80-90. I have 4 chars and it becomes a pain.

It only takes about 5 days played on average to get from 70 to 80 at the mo, I think it'll be about the same for 80-90. Blizz don't want people getting bored either ^ ^
