1UP writes: "We haven't heard too much of the plot, but it's an interesting route to have a Gas Powered Games RTS with a good story. Gas Powered Games writer Steve Bauman quipped, "If you prefer a storyless experience, you always have multiplayer and skirmish [modes]." Then again, we also happen to love the story campaigns in WarCraft and StarCraft, so Square's help in strengthening Supreme Commander 2's storyline could be a big help. The visual upgrade, applied to both the landscapes and the units, is also a big boost. We're definitely interested in seeing more Square Enix and Gas Powered Games collaborating to make what Taylor calls "a truly outrageous next-generation RTS." We also have to applaud Bauman's addition of giant fire-breathing dinosaur robots".
