More evidence points to Lost Planet 2 hitting the PS3

The first one coming out on ps3.. and capcom being a multiplatform developer.

My only problem with lost planet, is that the first one sucked on 360/pc/and sucked most on the ps3. I'm glad that i'm not relying on a LP2 announcement/footage at e3 for any of my consoles/computer. Capcom is in the business of making money. If you want some real exclusives, look to your first party devs folks. Not ones on the console/pc.

When Lp2 hits the ps3 it will of course run slightly worse than the 360 arcade version which it was optimized to run on, which always come in far behind any ps3 exclusive when it comes to performance, what ps3 owners are going to buy LP2 once it hits in the sea that is PSE3? The first one performed terribly as well. Capcom is giong to have to prove that its running well before they fool the 34 people that bought the ps3 version into buying it again instead of exclusives.

And why the hell do you invest in a timed exclusive of LP2? This is all wrong. SF4, yes. RE5, yes. LP2? ... Its like buyingn exclusive wheelman dlc..

This whole timed exclusive thing is utter nonsense if you ask me. If you(the scum company) end up having the game released for a substantial amount of time before the rest, then you're basically beta testing the game for the ps3 and vise versa.

Regardless how much people try to deny it, third party exclusives are gone out the window. This is the sole reason why Sony will forever have the upper hand when it comes to games and momentum. They always have something new and groundbreaking to offer on a monthly basis.

A true gamer knows that moves like this are pathetic and M$ has lead in this department. I never thought i'd see the day when such a large corporations like Micro would be riding on third party games and false advertise them like they where exclusives. Truly and utterly pathetic. So are fools who follow such a underwhelming corporation.

This is based on some of the same speculations we have already heard. The info isn't even accurate. No one ever said the game is in development for "PC" and the 360. I fail to see any new "evidence"

I personally thoroughly enjoyed the first one. I'm looking forward to the second one that so far looks amazing.

It will come to the PS3 with some extra content though.... I prefer not to have timed exclusives because it basically steals the early adopters of extra content while excluding other gamers.

It is a lose-lose situation for gamers in general, but the practice is here to stay.

edit: Obviously this won't happen, but I would laugh hard if it came out on the Wii instead of PS3.

the MT engine works better with 360, and even more so when the project is xbox 360 lead.

if capcom wants to make it exclusive to 360 or make it a multiplatform that's up to them, but it's most def that ps3's version won't be worth paying attention to or worth buying.

meh, I'm going to at least rent the 360 version. The first one was 7/10. It could have been better, but man it was annoying when you fell, it had a 3-5 second animation for you to get back up just for you to get knocked down again.

I have a blast playing co-op games with my little Bro and buddies that come over to the house, to bad all I have to play is Army of 2, RE5 and Resistance 2 at the moment.

But since they are only working on the 360 version, it won't translate well when time comes to make the PS3 version. Regardless of what Capcom or any other publisher PR says about how they develop games and how the engines are supposedly built for multiplatform it's just PR talk. To build perfection for the PS3 you need to start ground up on that platform.

Lost Planet 2 on PS3 will be inferior.

Yeah, there's absolutely no point in them releasing the PS3 version at all under these circumstances. Most games would lose out on PS3 sales purely with the later release but with the example of how a very mundane first game on 360 translated into an even worse experience on PS3 this one's properly dead in the water.

I'll rent it for 360 but after being stung by the first one it'll have to be incredibly different to make me buy it this time around. I dunno when I last really enjoyed a Capcom game, and I know people think they're on good form but , for me, DMC4 and LP were bad and everything else since has been pretty "meh" as well(possible exceptions of MM9 anmd SF2THDR)plus after ruining the SP of RE5 to add insult to injury with the Vs content fiasco means I just don't trust them anymore.

In what way do you think he was being a fanboy? The first LP was much worse on the PS3 than the 360(shockingly so) and with the dev process and engine being almost exactly the same isn't it fair enough to think the second game might do similar? To suggest PS3 gamers should be wary of this if it does release seems pretty good advice.

What concerns me more as a gamer is that the gameplay improves over the trudging numbness we all sat through last time. It deserves to as mechs are cool done right and the premise is as good as most but last time it was really one dimensional in terms of gameplay experience-and that was on 360, on PS3, as I said, it was even worse.

The game is actually being developed on PC hardware right now. All the videos Capcom have shown of Lost Planet 2 so far has been running off high-end PC hardware. If Capcom continues their trend of working on PC games in-house (first Lost Planet, DMC4, Bionic Commando, Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5), then LP2 will likely be on PC too.

yeah it definitely doesn't look bad...at least whats been shown...the first title didn't look good on either platform, and the ridiculous crysis like PC requirements made it look like pile on even a strong PC too...

but the sequel looks like RE5 in open environments with faster pacing...which definitely isn't a bad thing...

pretty funny how Capcom loves to say 'everything will be multiplatform from us now' at any chance when speaking to Sony oriented sites...but still is accepting offers for timed exclusitivity obviously...feck capcom in that sense...every single thing they have made this generation, save SFIV...has fallen relatively short of expectations...funny how this keeps happening to eastern publishers when they seem to embrace the 360 more and more...Capcom and SE are both well under their previous par in terms of game quality...yet seem to be reaching out to the 360 more than any other platform...
