Apple sued over quality issues again

Fudzilla: "Expensive gadget maker Apple has been sued for ignoring a safety flaw in the MagSafe power connector for MacBooks.

The connector could break, trigger sparks even creating a potential fire hazard. Apple fanboys are blessed with having to buy a new cable because Apple ignored complaints that the gear was faulty. The joint complaint from Tim Broad, Naotaka Kitagawa and Jesse Reisman claims that the MagSafe cable used for the MacBook and MacBook Pro will inevitably fray near one of its connecting ends.

Apple insists that the adapter is "durable" but Broad and Co said that daily use ends up destroying the cable over time. To make matters worse, they say that Apple is aware of the problem but hasn't fully addressed it with a safer design. Not only did the three have pictures of frayed cables, they even went to Apple stores and found them there.

As the problem is already known to affect "at least thousands" of users and may well include hundreds of thousands with the exact same issue, the plaintiffs want class action status."

Apple supplies a premium product. The unibody allows for a thinner laptop with low weight. The multi-touch pad is like no other. How dare you insult the greatness and flawlessness that is Apple's macbook.

no because toshiba doesn't provide premium laptops like Apple. Toshiba provides budget laptops that are cheap for the poor.

Sarcasm doesn't really apply to that one. Since it's mainly a true statement. And the persons Toshiba cord isn't ruined just from normal use. It's ruined from external forces.

What happening with Apple's is that it destroying itself.

Apple Products suck. I have pretty much stopped dealing with them as after a few Ipods and a Macbook all of which broke because of faulty hardware and customer elitist service basically told me off I brought my business elsewhere. It makes me wonder how the hell apple has such a good rep.

This actually happened to me last week. Except this issue has been addressed long before...

http://www.engadget.com/200...

I called up Apple and contrary to others' statements here, they provided excellent service, sending me OVERNIGHT a new replacement even though I was out of warranty.

You can even get it replaced free of charge at your nearest Apple store/Genius Bar.

When I received it in the mail, it was brand new and I didn't even have to send the faulty one back to them.

Perhaps this is my personal experience, but I haven't had problems with Apple's service. Not to mention my 3 year old 17" MacBook Pro is still running strong without any problems.

*edit* haha, disagreeing with a personal experience that I had. Silly n4gers...If it makes you feel better that your opinion is the almighty God given truth, then by all means, disagree and debubble away!
