NDA students protest video game's depiction of cruelty to animals

"Lucci, an Andover resident and president of the school's Animal Rights Club, two weeks ago launched a petition to heighten disgust over the canine aspect of a video bloodfest she saw her older brother engaging in.

More than 100 of Lucci's schoolmates have signed the petition. She hopes to forward it to the game's publisher, Activision of Santa Monica, Calif., a subsidiary of Paris-based Vivendi."

yeah, because we should "totally" be concerned about the games and ignore the parental responsibility. I would bet more people die of drunk driving/driers every day than animal cruelty as a result of video games.

Heck, there is way more animal cruelty in animal slaughterhouses than... you get the picture.

Hmm there are real attack and guard dogs, they do get killed if they have to. Plus the killing of the dogs is in self defense. It's not like you throw them in front of buses for fun.

All it teaches people is if a vicious attack dog is sent to maul you don't hesitate in defending yourself.

If they wanted a lot of viewers they should talk about how marijuana is not that bad when compared to alcohol. Then there is also salvia which is way more powerful and does not have any negative side effects and is currently legal.

Wow, this girl is the biggest retard. She states that one of the "objects of the game" is to kill dogs over and over.... she's probably never even played the game. What retards, her and everybody who signed the petition. And what pisses me off the most is that people will actually take this seriously... dogs were used in combat for WW2, and the soldiers HAD to kill the dogs or be killed. Not to include them would be historically inaccurate and an insult to the soldiers. Like the girls argument, mine has a point behind it, but really, its all just bullshit. Its a game, we want to play the game... she doesnt. So she decided to ruin it for others

Fallout 3 and COD:WAW are both MATURE games so if you can't tell right from wrong, your probably not supposed to be playing them in the first place. If you want to blame anyone for doing stupid crap in real life because of a game, you might want to consider the parents as a major motivation for their insolence.

One of the many jobs of a parent is to teach their kids right from wrong.

You do not kill them over and over, and it isn't an objective of the game. She is trying to make it sound like you sit there and shoot a row of dogs running at you and try to kill as many as possible.

She complains about cruelty to virtual dogs, and yet she appears to be grossly overfeeding her own real-life dog. She mentions her 12 pound Pomeranian, which makes it about 100% overweight - http://www.dogbreedinfo.com... states that the customary size of this breed in the modern day is 4-5 pounds, with the full range being 3-7 pounds...

Since the Pomeranian's heavy coat makes it prone to overheating, letting it get this big is pretty cruel.

Clearly animals can't but alot of people don't either. Usually people don't choose to die when their houses are being bombed. Things die, I don't find holding animals on a higher pedestal than humans right, but because all things are equal.

You still have to find the irony in this a bit humorous, more people get upset over a cat being hurt or dog than a person losing his/her arm, or being shot to death.
