Seven Of Nine Interview Hints At STO Borg Content

As part of the fictional updates for the upcoming Star Trek Online, an 'interview' with Voyager crew member Seven of Nine has appeared on the Star Trek Online site, revealing probable future game content.

The interview takes place seven years after the last episode of Voyager, and centres around Seven's decision to leave Starfleet. Now known as her human name, Annika Hansen, she is described as looking almost completely human, although her characteristic directness is still very much present.

"characteristic directness" = high maintenance

By maintenance, are you referring to the occasional greasing she requires and the periodic re-wiring?

...it comes on Spike at 3 am about 4 times a week. I've got my Tivo set to record it. Love re-watching and seeing some I missed the first time around.

The news about the doctor and the legal suit, that probably has something to do with the fact you can have holograms as proper crew members in the game.

This game is just so going to rule.

There really aren't enough details on this one yet, though.

They could do a lot worse than add the Borg to the game. The most fearful enemy by far.

That cliff hanger with Picard... /shudder

Really can't see how the Borg can be a persistent enemy in the game.

An annual event or campaign maybe.

Because they adapt as they are attacked?

The Borg is the equivalent of a thinking avalanche.

10.3 - Terrifying indeed...
Which is why they might want to have them as a permanent threat, but I can see now how that would be difficult, sadly.

Maybe they could start of as a moderate problem when you begin the game and get harder as your character progresses, with a big show down when you become very powerful. Unfortunately I don't know enough about the gameplay to say if this is possible in STO.

10.4 - I agree, they should appear fairly rarely.
You don't want their appearance to be so rare that few people ever seen them, but you don't want "meh, just another Borg" reactions from all the players.

What's great about the Borg is that when there is a hint that they may be involved in anything, then it's time to sit up and pay attention, because things just go serious.

You will loose that effect if they appear frequently.

10.5 - "What's great about the Borg is that when there is a hint that they may be involved in anything"
Well no.

You never what to discover "stealth" Borg infiltrating a ship or world.

When Paramount revamped them for Voyager, the First contact movie, they made them far too dangerous. Rather they just tear apart any ship or advanced civilized planet they come across than then turn said crew and populous into cyber zombies.

Adaptive cyber zombies looking to turn others at that.

Just keep the psychotic Cpt. Janeway away from the game and everything should run smoothly. And no Neelix.

Proxy - 279 days 15 hours ago
11.1 - Players who cheat.
Get a beating from Cpt. Janeway, and then Nelix fallows them around for several weeks to make sure they don't cheat any more.
