Unreal Tournament 3 Steam Discount Extended, Free For Another Weekend

Last Thursday, Valve announced that Unreal Tournament 3 was free for all Steam users for a weekend and could be purchased for 40% off until March 15th. The promotion turned out to be so successful that they'll be extending the discount and hosting another UT3 free weekend.

I'm wondering, is anyone still playing this? If so should I get it for PS3 or get it off of steam?

dont ever buy quake or unreal games on console if your considering playing online. Your robbing yourself the experience of playing among the best fps gamers in the world (I'm saying this as a cs player, those guys are nuts). Get it off steam.

Heh, well started the pre-loading "install" already. So hopefully I'll get a night's worth of fun intense game playing :).

@evrfighter
I see, one that is best suited for PC and that eventually got ported over toward the PS3 as well as the 360? Used to the PC laptop and mouse set up so leaning toward the PC a bit.

ya UT3 isn't really anything special. Epic seems to think that piracy is why it did poorly on pc. But at 12 bucks I'll probably pick this up

If anything I'm guessing a l4d like event occured here on steam. When valve knocked l4d down 50% it made 3000% more revenue than it did on launch day. Epic is probably making a killing and extended the sale. Hopefully they'll learn a lesson and stick their foots in their mouth before they go around crying about why their games sold poorly.

Not sure why UT3 sold poorly, to be honest. I imagine the staggered release date for different platforms contributed but it's a solid game. It has a lot of weapons and vehicles, it looks great, and oh yeah, hoverboards.

UT3 has a lot of weapons? From the various comments I've read about the game (which was last year at least) they said it only had about 10 weapons or something like that. I'm surprised it has more, seems like this is starting to become a definite buy at least for the PC version. Though I'd rather buy the disc and have the hard copy instead of buying off of steam :).

Personally, I disliked the game.

A shame, since I loved all the prior games and had each one.

Hm UT3 at 40% off .......... I think I will keep my cash it will be a cold hard day in hell before I give a company like Epic any of my hard earned money.
