Quake Live goes down, success swamping servers

Quake Live launched today, with over 113,000 registered users and 20,000 stuck in a queue upon signing up to the open beta service. All this has put pressure on id's servers, which are now offline due to the Content Delivery Network.

This is a bit annoying. I waited for like an hour to get through a queue of 20,000 and arrived at the page to download and install the plugin. I did this and it told me that Firefox had to be restarted. I just did this and went back to the site only to find that I have to wait in a queue of around 40,000 now :'(

Yeah I'm at a queue position of 43000. That is pretty ridiculous.

4.2 - Same exact thing happened to me
Here's hope that it is fixed soon. It looks like this is going to be a major success.

Closed beta was fun.

It's nice to see that Quake Live has interested a lot of people, even though most haven't been able to play yet because of the queue.
