Spores tackles LittleBigPlanet as Maxis throws down the creative gauntlet

Both Spore and LittleBigPlanet are games that ride the "user generated content" train that seems to be so popular these days. Despite the fact that LittleBigPlanet benefited from its appealing central characters and PS3 exclusivity (which always guarantees press and fan attention), Maxis is confident that it still rules the user created content roost, and that LBP hasn't stolen its hype.

Can you create entire games in Spore like you can in LittleBigPlanet?

There's a two-player vs. basketball game that someone made in LittleBigPlanet. It's so cool.

When levels like The Matrix by wexford or 1 of the other 300,000 or so user generated levels have been created in LBP I don't hink it has much to be worried about.

Dear Maxis, your game sucked, do not compare your piece of crap to LBP. When you can make a new creature in 30 seconds but it takes around two or three days to make a good LBP level is there any doubt that there are more creations on Spore? No. What is the point of them starting this?

Why is EA talking sh*t about MM/LBP when they've said nothing about them? IMO The best part of Spore was the creature creator the rest of the game was complete nonsense. Besides LBP is was a GoTY contender for every major gaming site/publication and Spore... well we all know how that went.

It's foolish for that Maxis nimrod to think Media Molecule copied Spore. Spore is mediocre and boring while LittleBigPlanet is a great game. Spore doesn't even let you do much. It's really just a last gen game compared to LittleBigPlanet.
