Stronghold Arrives On Good Old Games

Today is the inauguration of a new American president and to honor the occasion, why not play a real-time strategy game set in eleventh century Europe? Alright, that might have been a bit of a stretch, but the point is, Stronghold is now available for purchase through Good Old Games.

Anyone actually played this game? This was one game that apparently passed me by.

1.1 - Yes, I've played it before
I actually liked this game a lot. It's an RTS game that focuses more on defending your castle and seiging your ememies castle and taking care of your villagers.

There's a mode where you can create your own castle and upload for others to download. There's one castle someone created that replicated the Lord of the Rings castle.

The sequels after this game went 3D and was not as fun.

I actually loved this game, but Stronghold 2 wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The original and the crusader stand-alone expansion while all in 2-d was fantastic and fast paced, and quite a lot of fun. But perhaps that's just because I just liked the total control I had over my peasants.

yeah Agreed!

This game was really fun! Always personally preferred it to Age of Empires.

I'll probably pick this one up eventually. Gog.com just plain rocks though.
