Bioshock for PS3: Rumor Debunked

Official Playstation Magazine UK originally reported in its March issue that the previously exclusive Xbox 360 shooter, Bioshock, was "set to makes waves on PS3." They had no basis for this rumor, but it spread like wildfire regardless.

However, 2K recently reconfirmed that Bioshock was indeed still Xbox 360 and PC exclusive. 2K stated that OPM UK is referring to one of their old press release from May at E3 2006, when they didn't provide specific platforms Bioshock would appear on.

a while back at on of them gaming shows it was allready said that it wasent coming to ps3 becouse it was esclusive to xbox and pc if it wasent he wouldend said that plus this game if it good its gonna sell some more 360 why bring it over to sony side thats like saying mass effect was coming to the ps3 then people who want new game to play wont buy a 360 but a ps3

I think this might make it on the PS3 eventually. This reminds me of the Assassyns creed "ps3 exclusive" which admittedly was to do with the commercials between Sony and Ubisoft but this eventually found its way onto the XBOX. I think this case is probably something similar except that developement is being PC and PC style developement focused but a port will probably appear for the PS3.

By "commercials" I did mean Sony coughing up cash, which they didn't. This was probably a mistake on their part but I am sure the developer doesn't mind. They seem to be far more familiar with xbox developement which is understandable due to the dev kit familiarity for the PS3. But this is my point, I think bioshock developers are the same when it comes to PS3 developement, they aren't so fammiliar with it and so it makes more strategic sense to concentrate on the versions on the game they can release as soon as possible. Get the game making some money and then start thinking about a PS3 port. (not exactlly in that order or timeframe but I think you get the point).

Who cares... just another first person shooter like the other 30 or so that are already out...

I'll wait till it comes out on the PC (since my younger brother basically took ownership of my 360 !@#$%) .. If I really wanted to play it, I'm sure like a majority of the 360 games it will be on the PC eventually...

They over hyped the PS2 game Killzone for so long that when it finally arrived they gave it 9 out of 10 in their reveiw, I'll never trust them again.

I played Killzone from start to finish and thought that it deserved no more than a 7/10.

Sony doesnt pay for exclusives. Microsoft does. Proabably why there gaming department budget is in trouble even after successful sales and 1 year early launch. Stop buying up all them dammn exclsuives and develope better 1st. Party support. thats what I say and thats why Sony will always have that edge on Microsoft. "You cant buy respect you have to earn it". The only first party props they really get is halo. Thats what they get the most love for. Sony has the balls to push first party after first party blockbusters with no remorse. Hats off to Sony for not basing there sucess on 3rd party devs that go after the bigger wallet not the better product.

its funny. if this was a first party ms game all the sony fans would say "its just another fps" and "doesnt look like anything great to me". but since it's 3rd party and they have a SLIGHT chance of getting it, then they say "it'll be on ps3 sooner or later" and talk about how it looks like a good game.

the best part about is how they have had so many exclusives taken away from them and more are sure to be lost, but they still have some bizzare faith in sony and are bold anough to say that any great game will find its way to the ps3, despite the fact that sony cant keep the ones that were supposed to be thiers, let alone another brands exclusives

I wonder how many times this rumor will be posted, they “confirmed” this game for PC and 360 (right now) all you have is hope about a game PS3 fans are jealous over you seen the vids and its all “Eye Candy” you may get this you may not all I know is I got mine.

The most anticipated games you PS3 fans are waiting to play are ports. Why? Well that’s because Sony isn’t giving you games there giving you movies while third party gives you games. You see R34GTR there banking of the fanbase of the PS brand to push Blu-Ray.
And Blu-Ray R34GTR would make them far more money than the PS3 ever could. “to become a standard format makes you rich and puts a Sony logo on anything entertainment.” They know the gaming monopoly changes with each new console, so there going for a monopoly on media (kinda like MS with windows huh) All I’m saying is right now it shows Sony not really caring about gaming because last year at this time 360s second wave was here.

I’m sure it will be considering you guys getting them so late and all. But wait a minute anything the PS3 can do graphically 360 can do and do somethings better (proven). All the games you PS3 fans use as (graphics) ammo against the 360 are all still around the corner and are still in development for years and there showcase titles still have yet to offer anything other than CGI trailers. Now don’t call me an extreme Xbot I am a 360 fanboy but I have owned everything except Wii (soon) and PS3 and as a gamer I just don’t like what Sony did to me this time. This kind of s**t has been done before and for those of you new to Capitalism this kind of s**t will continue.

Doesn’t matter if you get Bioshock, Oblivion or Ninja Gaiden what matters is Xbox fans have already been playing them as far back as 2005. “Your getting sloppy seconds” that’s what PS2 fans used to say to Xbox fans regarding GTA, Oh my have the tables turned on you guys this round.

P.S while your over here trying to give 360 fans a hard time, the 360 fans when they log off of N4G are going to play a library of next gen games. What are you going to play?

When I log off N4G im going over to the garage me and a couple buddies own to try to tweak the boost on my "R34GTR"..... yea im currently running it at 18 lbs. of boost and im kicking out 677HP @5500 RPM and 730lbs. of Torque. Then after that I have to go bring my girl friend her late Valentines day gift I bought here the new chocolate cell phone in pink (I think she'll like it). Didnt see her yesterday family issue came up. Then we will probably catch a movie. Then i'll drop her off. Then i'll go home and go to bed for work in the morning. hmmmmmm I would put in some time on the PS3 but I already beat Resistance.

1. This game is as someone already said considered legendary and its an rpg with fps elements so sony fanboys stop hatin.

2. This game was announced as exclusive to 360 and pc at X06 by peter moore. Therefore I doubt this game will ever come to the ps3.
