Rumor: Bioshock for PS3?

OPM UK have quite bluntly stated that the recently announced "Microsoft exclusive" will indeed be heading to the Playstation 3 in their March 2007 issue. Originally slated for Xbox 360, Vista and Playstation 3, Bioshock was shot down from the PS3 line up when Microsoft announced at CES that it would be a Microsoft exclusive.

Rather than fighting, let's just all assume that this and every other game on the planet that isn't PUBLISHED by Sony or Microsoft is going to be released for both systems. It makes the most financial sense, lowers expectations, shuts fanboys up and lets us move on with our lives.

So, Bioshock and Lost Planet to the PS3, MGS4 and Devil May Cry to the 360. Until it is released and six months passes, we're all going to be going through these bullshit threads for EVERY FRICKIN' GAME RELEASED...so, who cares?

Of course, this thread will now revert to the usual garbage. Enjoy!

And for the love of God, I'm making an example of the foolishness of these rumors and the 70 pages of ensuing comments, the first person to say "MGS 4 is NEVER coming to the 360", thus nullifying the please for peace, gets introduced as the first person on my ignore list. Good Luck!

Never heard of source.....yet one of the most common site to submit unique news to N4G.

Anyway, I agree in some ways with Urban. Every game just about will more then likely come to another console if it's not being developed by first party.

I think it's important to note that the site is about letting everyone know whats happening in gaming news, especially when the news (rumour) has some facts or evidence that's worthy of taking a look at. That's all this was.

To be honest I think it's great news for ps3 fans, I'm an Xbox fan more so myself but I love healthy competition. I also own a PS3 and love that to and I want good games to keep coming to the console. The console will only stay alive is sales continue to stay high.

Mass Effect is not going to PS3, it's impossible since MS is publishing the game, same goes for Halo 3.

Mass Effect is definately exclusive on 360.
Saints Row, well yeah timed exclusive clearly. What about your Virtua Fighter, Fatal Inertia and GTA? All came to 360 and more to come

Bioshock still is exclusive, some rumour doesn't change that. Halo, you'll never see on the PS3. Have you seen Halo 1 already on a PS system? Although I have seen MGS2 on my XBOX!

Sony is in reality using 720p as the sweet spot, ALL their games up to now are 720p. The 360 was the first system out there with 1080p possibility (at the end of october), the PS3 only came 17 November with it.

10 - This was already in development for PS3

before the exclusivity announcement came out. This is actually one of the few 360 titles that I'm interested in, so having it migrate back over to the PS3 would be awesome. The only reason I'm going to give this article a nod of credibility is because it was printed in a well renowned magazine instead of being a random internet rumor.

Eh who really cares...lol it's like oblivion we get it first you get it later. PS fans are now like the little brother looking over your shoulder waiting and complaining about how he wants to try and than after months the brother gives in and lets him try. But it's not as cool anymore cause it's really old by than. Oblivion, Bioshock (if true) saints row, etc etc etc...companies are lame, their only in it for the money, it really bugs me. Like if you guys got GOW next November, ok it would be cool for you, but if you tried telling your friend, he'd be like, uh ok I was playing that a year ago which pretty much ruins all the hype you had for it. Also, I'm not knocking the PS3 in anyway I'm just stating that it's really not a big deal if this does go to the PS3, because we still get it first. It's like MGS, cool if it goes to the 360, but not as cool as it would have been 6 months eariler on the PS3...everyone knows what I mean. GTA IV and Assassins Creed were much bigger announcements than this, because they were taken from Sony and given to Microsoft on day one, instead of a "timed" exclusive.

Hey its having memory issues with Oblivion hence the missing of some of the content on top of that the GPU in the PS3 would not be able to handle the complex textures and lighting and the HDR in particular.

haha too much beer, I noticed that in your last post with a few minor glitches, lol. I don't really agree with you on the Bioshock thing though I think it looks fantastic I don't think the textures are bad at all. Plus that video is from what E3 06 that games probably been so upgraded by now. I do agree on the room thing, but you only saw a very small part of the game, also keep in mind that the game is supposed to be like a world and it's open ended but it's supposed to also be a different experience in a different room so I think they keep it close quartered for a reason, so the game flows. Being restrictive is much better than being open in a game like this cause you would spend an hour examining one room and their could possibly be nothing in it. I think it's all design decision to keep the game flowing so it doesn't get boring.

Oh and will people please STFU about this "Ps3 cant do this and 360 can't do this" seriously their both so damn powerful, I highly doubt their will be any game this generation within the next 4-5 years that would be made that can't run on either console. Later in life tho the cell will show it's potential and it's year 5, maybe 6 and up will probably be when you seem some small part of seperation between the two, but by than it probably won't matter because Microsoft and Sony will probably be showcasing their next consoles...

Why do so many people ignore your comments? Maybe you should consider another approach to making comments. Think sensibly. Besides, we all know Sony is too big and experienced to have a another game studio make games exclusively for another company. After seeing the success of PS1 and PS2, is it not questionable to believe that the PS3 will not share in that same success? After coming to your senses and noticing that the PS3 is just not any other console but a descendant of the great PS1 and PS2, you as a game company look at the 360 and decide in order to survive, you cannot make a game exclusive to a console just because it was released first. That's like giving a scholarship to the first applicant rather than to the one whose been nominated and deserves it. I truly believe in the end, after the PS3 picks up steam, it will be Sony that once again recieves the major exclusives and at the same time, games will be ported from the ones in the ps3 libraries to the other consoles. That's just how the trickle-down theory works--from the head to the toe. I see a repeat of the last generation battle except this time the margin between the PS3 and the 360 will be smaller than the last, but it will still be noticeable. What i'm not sure of though is how the Wii will fair in this as compared to the gamecube--it looks to me like the 360 and Wii might be competing with each other for second and third. O well, regardless of my assumptions, this is still good news for the ps3. But until games start to show the true power of the PS3, I will not be happy.

Rumor has it bioshock is coming to the ps3. That's another plus for sony!!! Even though it is a port in, the fact that it is being port in to the ps3 that mean sony has a better chance then MS. All the company's are supporting sony. It was suppose to be a MS exclusive. xbox 360 has been here for a year and took them a year to get these games out. Ps3 has been here for 3 month it is all ready rolling out with a lot of games, and has sold more the xbox 360 compare to last year xbox 360 sale.

I see the point you are trying to make. And yes I have been a smart @ss my whole life. But I do give respect where it is do. People avoid me because they are already avoiding the truth. I have no reason to lie or exaggerate issues. We are all gamers and we need to call it like we see it to keep our industry clean and pure. We should not accept things just because we are brand loyal.

EX: the FORD motor group made cheap cars with horrible gas mileage for years we as American accepted it because of brand loyalty. Then other companies like TOYOTA, KIA, GM, and on and on. Now ford has had a wake up call because we stopped buying their cars. They have lowered the cost and made more reliable and fuel-efficient cars.

Sony needs the same kind of face lift in my opinion. I really want to ask them myself what were you think with offering a $600.00 consol. History has shown that consoles that cost more than $400.00 have a hard time selling. And how the whole HDMI, 1080p, 256MB, 4D gaming thing has written them some checks that they really cannot cash on brand loyalty alone.

I will agree with you that I am hard on the extreme PS3 fan boys but I think they need it.

Rumour or not there is going to be alot of this going around. Microsoft as a company has alot of money. However regardless of what you may thing the "Gaming Division" or Xbox department has a budget. I do believe they are actually having a hard time with it so to speak. So its going to come down to first party. If you think Microsoft is going to be able to buy themselves a huge library your insane. Ever lost planet, Gears of War, Dead Rising Etc. that they want to keep exclusive is a big chunk out of the gaming departments budget. So pretty soon "ONLY ON XBOX" will become "ONLY ON XBOX FOR NOW" Till it eventually its 1st. party or Multi Platform.

We should either assume all 3rd party games are going multiplat. Or PS3 fanboys should respect that this game is as of right now a 360/PC game ONLY as 360 fans should respect that MGS4 is a PS3 title. Pick one guys.

The only problem I have is the PS3 guys never give a reason for these rumors. 360 fans say a title is coming to the 360 because of an established installed base and brisk sales.

Why is Bioshock coming to the PS3 ? Because of a much smaller installed base and worldwide sluggish sales ? Or is it just because the machine has the PLAYSTATION 3 (tm) logo on it?
