Test Your Creativity In Call of Duty: World at War, Mod Tools Released

GameXtract writes "Call of Duty: World at War has only been released for about a week, and its already a best seller across the Xbox 360, and has received high review scores from many different sites. It really seems like Treyarch have pulled through this time delivering a World War II experience that we can all appreciate. If simply playing the game is not enough, PC gamers have been given a gift that will surely bring a whole new level of creativity to the table. Released today are the mod tools (1.1 GB) allowing anyone willing to do so to create all new levels, and mods for both singleplayer, and multiplayer game modes."

If the mod tool was compatible with the PS3 like UTIII did then COD5 >>>>>> COD 4, oh well, a missed opportunity.

Yeah, I think every game should come with a map editor like Far Cry 2's (just with better implementation). I think it's fun to make maps and share them, and it adds a TON of replay value as long as the gameplay is solid. I didn't think Far Cry 2 was that good, but originally half my reason for getting it was the map editor, and what that meant for multiplayer.

I'm getting a bit tired of paying for extra maps when there are a ton of people out there who will make even better ones for free. They could even make the good custom maps official by releasing them in a free pack for those who don't actively seek them out. It's really the next step in evolution for console gaming, and I can't wait for it.

2 - This is why I'd never get a console version of a PC game.
People make mods in their free time, and we can try them out. FOR FREE! :D
