I find it scary. I would have to say, of all those I knew who played WoW, at least 95% were addicted and spending hours and loads of cash on it (subscription for 2 or so years adds up and expansion).

I understand what you mean by people spending loads of cash over the course of 2 years... so on and so on.

Break it down into a month though. $15.00 for ~30 days of entertainment. That's only .50 cents a day. I don't think thats a ton of money to pay out for a video game.

Most pay at least $50 - $60 for a game that's over with in 8 hours.

I think WOW is a great quantity to cost ratio.

That's just me though. I pay for my account, my wifes, and my mothers. Worth every penny to me.

Btw, I was one of those 2.8 million "geeks" but if you saw me in real life you wouldn't have guessed it in a million years I even played this game. I got airman that come in the military and are utterly shocked to know I play. You really need to get over that PC MMOs are only for the geeks..

I hear ya Guwapo77, I run a successful business full time and my girlfriend just got her Bachelor degree in Nursing from Mgill and we are frequent WoW players.

In my guild we have everything from programmers, wedesigners, Firemen and Bodybuilders to house wives and retired old men. Kids don`t understand the scope of people who play wow, sterotypes are much easier to understand for them.

It is slowly by a certain margin..They need more exclusives besides Strat based games....but hell with all the graphic mermory PC's are still better than consoles..but the level of game errors for PC users are slightly higher risk than that for console users.
