How To Run Crysis At 60 FPS On High Settings

The computer-melting first-person shooter Crysis can be run at sixty frames per second with the graphics settings turned way up. Yes, it's actually possible. It takes only one easy step: "Buy an $8,000 computer." See? Simple!

Maxforce 3-Way SLI and 4 GHz+ http://www.tomshardware.com...

Probably find one for around $6-7000, get you an average of 2 fps more to! Bargain ;)

This is the reason why I went console and use my PC just for Valve Software duty.

Yeah, but Crysis is the exception, this PC will get 60 fps on Crysis but a million on everything else. It's not even that great a game, there are certainly better (COD4/5, UT, L4D,FC2) and those are all perfectly playable on a much more affordable rig.

1.3 - PAH! I SAY PAH!
Pah! I was able to get roughly 45 FPS at high/max settings using a stock GeForce 260 and AMD Phenom 9550 + 4GB RAM @ 1920x1200. And it cost $1300.

This is just over-kill. All the game needs is optimization.

1.4 - Ha tempist I spent $500 and play on high at 30fps
Good enough for me! Supreme Commander murders my processor on big games though.

2 - you could do it for less than that
but crysis isn't all that well optimized, people should just stop talking about it already. It was a good but not a classic game.

Yeah, the talk of the graphics really made people ga-ga over the game. I probably wouldn't even count it in my top 5 (or 10) favorite shooters.

Crysis is just a benchmark now. I don't know anyone who even plays it anymore. Just wasn't that much fun.

6 - i guess they ment very high
i play the game on all high and get a average 35fps i do a little over clocking but thats it. i have sli 9600gt but spent a little over 800. please dont tell me i wasted my money because i play most games maxed out or close to maxed out. 800 dollars gets you a lot for your money now days. of course its not for every one but come on a 800 dollar pc does way more then a ps3 and a 360 can do combined. i have a ps3 and i prefer my ps3 over my pc but when i multie plat game comes out for the pc its way better. cheaper, mods, better graphics, smoother fps, faster load times, and sometimes better controls. i understand that pc gaming is some times to much to ask for but if u want the best pc gaming is great.

omg people i built my system for £800-$1600 at the time and i can play with AA X 4, AS X 4 full shaders, 720P res and DX10 at 52 FPS, the ps3 and 360 could not achieve that at medium and with no AA, AS, shaders.

PS3 and 360 lag on game that PC can play at over 80 FPS COD4 example

get alot more for ur money Video Lan owns any media ability the PS3 got or the 360 and its costs nothing

more apps than PS3 and 360 got games, sony and microsoft only get there sales because they spend more money in advertisment in one year than PC games have in last 5 years easy

Crysis is actually well optimized for what's on screen. It's just pushing so much more tech than other games. All of the dynamic lighting effects, shaders, parralax mapping, ambient occlusion, high polygon models, a gig of texture memory, etc.

First of all, why ddr3-1066 Mhz ram when he can easily say ddr3-2000.

Second, if I remember correctly, Crysis is Crossfire-hating. Might be better off with SLI if you're only trying to go overkill on Crysis.

14 - $8000? No thanks,
I'll just wait until the PS3 releases it's version of Crysis.

It may not look as good as the Maxed-out version, but that's $8000 more bucks in my pocket.

..And +$8000 in my pocket looks even better to me.

Building PCs today is extremely easy. I used to be very intimidated about building one myself, but I did recently without a lot of prior knowledge without any help.
