Activision Honors U.S. Soldiers with Special Call of Duty: Word at War Event

In a press release, Activision announced that troops stationed around the world will be amongst the first to play the latest Call of Duty game. As a further bonus, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, USO, and others will all take on the troops in a series of online matches.

I thought so. Perfect timing releasing the game on Veterans Day. Sadly alot of stores do not have it.

Actually I would have thought that more war would be the last thing they would want to play. Maybe LBP would have been a happier choice :)

Funny you mention that. I play in a Call of Duty Clan when time allows, and while playing the MP Beta, I mentioned that I wonder if PETA is going to protest the game over the use of dogs. The fact that you have to shoot or knife dogs to stay alive is going to be a sensitive issue to some and I could easily see with the success of this game, that it will become a target for attack by groups.

Remember when Wolfenstein came to the Nintendo. Nintendo took the blood out and rather than dogs they had attack rats as they did not want a backlash. Plus lets call it as it is, I am sure some in the Japanese community will not be happy with the portrayal of Imperial Japan in regards to traps and torture. We know that it is accurate from a historical point, but in this P.C. age we are supposed to not remember past actions that make a group look bad.
