Top eight titles to envy - games we want on PS3

Psu.com writes: "Two years after its inception, Sony's PlayStation 3 has accumulated a stellar line-up of games under its belt, with big hitters including Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, and SOCOM: Confrontation available this holiday season, and the likes of God of War III, Killzone 2 and Heavy Rain bringing up the rear in 2009.

Despite the abundance of quality software available, it doesn't mean we can't envy other platforms for their own exclusives. With this in mind, we've compiled a list of the top eight titles we'd most like to see put in an appearance on Sony's black box."

first things first.... glad to see you back on the site buddy :)

secondly, why would Gears be weird on the PS3??? the Wii yes, but the PS3

Resistance is a much-loved franchise on the PS3, and like Gears- it is a big-name shooter game with balls-out non-stop action gameplay

plenty more examples can be applicable here...

if by "XBOX" title you mean a macho shooter then your right on a level... the PS3's demographic is generally more sophisticated (due to a higher level of maturity, due to, well... the higher price tag and the higher focus on a wide range of technically satisfying features appreciated mostly by older tech-savvy folk- i am NOT talking about Nasim here so don't mention him you pedants... i am talking about the broad demographics here)

...but that's not to say we don't love a good action game

this is all a bit moot really... Gears isn't included in the list

but if i said 15 years ago that not only would there be a sonic game on a nintendo platform but that they would end up in the same game i wouldve been beeten to deathwith p[ower gloves and those aweful 32x add-ons

The only title on there that interests my tastes is CRYSIS.

MassEffect 2 will probably be on the PS3 since EA is the publisher. And who knows, EA may indeed bring Left 4 Dead to the PS3.

None of the games on that list particularly interest me. Crysis was OK, but I really couldn't get into Mass Effect. StarCraft and Diablo just aren't genres I like.

Splinter Cell looks like it went down the wrong path. It's supposed to be stealth and the trailer made it look like a brawler. Granted, it also says Holiday 2007, so I guess a lot could have changed.

Left 4 Dead and Project Offset I would love on the PS3. Project Offset doesn't look real though. Something about that video just feels fake. But if they can pull that off, I'm sure it would be awesome.

Adding Socom and not adding Metal Gear Solid 4 to the big hitters list= insta fail to me.

I would like Mass Effect (but already have it on Pc) and Diablo III(never played but there seems to be a lot of hype around the first two so i would like to try it).

Diablo 111 would be great though ...im sure eventually Mass Effect and it's aequels will find it's way on the PS3...

I'd like to see some Ninja Gaiden 2 action, though with competent level design this time. Star Ocean 4 would be nice too, but that's a shoe in. Everything else I can just get on the PC due to muh new 26inch monitor.

The only thing I would want on the PS3 from that list is Crysis.... and there's rumors that it's coming to the PS3, hopefully next year.

I don't see what's so special about L4D and to me it looks generic in comparison to Resistance 2 and Killzone 2. Valve's games may be hugely popular, but none of them really looked that appealing to me and neither does L4D.

Project Offset, Star Craft 2, and Diablo III aren't my type of games, and I don't play JRPG's, so Star Ocean 4 isn't really important to me on the PS3.... I would only want Star Ocean 4 on the PS3 so that it could send PS3 sales through the roof in Japan... it's really a shame that Star Ocean 4 will struggle to sell a million because it's only on the 360.

If Splinter Cell Conviction hadn't strayed so far away from the Original first 3 games, then I would want Conviction on the PS3, but I can pick it up on the PC if I wanted... for the most part I think that Conviction is just a timed PC and 360 exclusive and will appear on the PS3 sometime down the road, but I guess we'll just have to see about that.

It's not that L4D is generic, it's that it looks like a CounterStrike Source mod that came out ages ago.

I see no reason to pay money for what is a cut down version of a mod with a story thrown on.

I would love to see games like God of War come over to Xbox 360 even though it is not going to happen. If only I could afford all the consoles, I would be one happy gamer. I am very happy with what Xbox 360 is offering though, but sometimes you just wonder, what if.

why? the PS3 has Kb/M support...

if SC2 shipped utilized that advantage and shipped with comparable technical prowess on the PS3 (which it would obviously) then there is no reason why Blizzard shouldn't consider a PS3 release..

some people don't have games-capable PC's you know..

the only games on that list i'm interested in is SO4 and maybe Mass effect. I don't care about crysis at all and I prefer playing RTS and Blizzard games on PC, you can say the PS3 can support mouse and keyboard but it will have to be built around a DS3. The closest good console game to an RTS is Pikmin.

To be fair a few of the games on that list may very well end up on PS3 at some point. Mass Effect 2 will most likely make it to PS3 seeing as EA will want to make as much as they can with it.

Star Ocean as well will most likely end up on PS3 at some point. SE seems to be kinda hesitant to confirm it's 100% exclusive to 360 leading alot of people to believe that it's only a timed exclusive.

Those two games crush lesser beings like Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 like insects.

Maybe Crysis: Warhead but thats not possible until the nextgen. If you scale down Crysis or lower it's texture resolutions then it wouldn't be Crysis anymore so leave it alone.
