Velvet Assassin showing no love for PS3

For those of you hoping to jump in the skintight leather pants of Violette Summer and thwart German Nazi's on your PlayStation 3 next year, you may be in for a disappointment.

Speaking with PSU.com, a Gamecock representative confirmed that Replay Studios is not developing a PS3 version of Velvet Assassin.

Theres around that many (or more) 360s, just because they sold that many doesn't mean that 18million units of this game will be sold.

They made the right choice anyway, means game wont be delayed due to PS3

Yeah could HAVE had a few, but it's clearly a problem for a few devs 2 cope with the PS3 architecture so they're gonna save a lot of money by just not trying it. Might turn out 2 be poor either way. And yeah like the above says, install base clearly doesn't equal software sales. 17-18 million by that time vs the 20+ 360 that are already bought...

It's kind of like MGS! So they probably figure that MGS fans would compare the two, and choose not to buy it cause they feel MGS is better.

It looks like this will be the closest 360 owners will get to MGS on 360, so there it is!

As far as I knew, the game has always sucked. I don't know why people got it in their head that this game would be any good (nor have I heard the least bit of excitement for it, so I kind of think you're just saying that). Everyone who has seen the game in action knows its going to be a POS. Also, it's gamecock. I don't know any game they made that's worth buying. Definitley not "Hail to the Chimp" and I guarantee "Legendary" will get average reviews at best.

I'm all for a new stealth action game, but this one won't make the cut. The xbots can laugh it up, but when the game comes out they won't even buy it. They have their exclusive stealth game now, while PS3 owners have had theirs for a few months now.

7 - Am I the only one
that has never heard of this game until now? I mean I would like to think I am well read and keep abreast of upcoming titles but this one wasn't even on my radar.

It isn't that the PS3 is hard to develop for it's the devs being lazy. A few colleaugues at AT&T Labs here in NJ are using Cell based blades to do some simulation work and developing on it is only slightly harder than on a standard x86 based machine. They have stated that the extra time put in is well worth it due to the increased performance for the applications they are writing. Not to mention that the tools that IBM and Sony are both putting out for the Cell is very good. The architecture can no longer be blamed at this point.

i was always curious about this game...im gonna have to do some research on it...i dont think this is gonna hurt the ps3 one bit especially with god of war 3, killzone 2 and heavy rain among other games coming out next year

Meh, I haven't even heard about this game, so it's hard for me to even care.

Killzone 2, Infamous, God of War 3, M.A.G., Wardevil, Heavy Rain and other unannounced PS3 exclusives will do me just fine in 2009.

The last major game that came from Gamecock flopped really bad. Fury was the name of the game and it was on the P.C., lets look at the reviews:

That PS3 owners will not see this game, but I think I will have to still check it out. The story/graphics look pretty good. I own both, I wish all devs would share the love for all consoles. This way the gaming community would grow.

Gamecock needs to make a name for itself other than the current joke they are of the publishing industry. I realize it is hard as a first time publisher to land the high end development companies, but what they have put out hasn't done too well or received much reviewwise. I hope VA does well. It has some potential from what I have seen.

Legendary isn't off to a great start though.

Mostly that I chose the PS3 over the 360, its starting to look more and more that I made the wrong choice. No Fallout 3 DLC, "apparently" worse looking multi plats, and barely any 3rd party devs putting any work into PS3. At least not for games I'm interested in. I'd trade my PS3 in for a 360 but I already bought a bunch of Blu-Ray movies and stuff to go with it. Oh well, hopefully Sony will get it together and try to save whats left to save in their gaming division.

I bought a console that has been doing nothing but losing games or DLC. DOnt get me wrong, I love the games I have for it, and have not had any issues with it or anything, except the fact that Sony keeps choosing not to go after games or DLC, instead jsut hoping for the best with their 1st party games, I jsut want them to be more aggressive and get some f'n games already. There are some killer sounding games coming down the pipes but its getting ahrd to wait. Sabatour looks awesome, The Agency looks awesome, Uncharted 2 I'm sure will be killer, same with Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 but I'm jsut getting sick of waiting.

TheDuke, it's okay that you backed the wrong horse because now with the 360 price-cuts you can Jump In at a very reasonable price. You can own both systems and with the 360 you know you have the best HD gaming console and have your PS3 for your movie needs.

You do know that Gamecock isn't developing the game right? They only are publishing it. Much like how Ubisoft didn't develop No More Heroes they just brought it to the US.

Replay Studios is the developer of this game. Still the game seems like it'll be a fun filler of a game. Not everyone wants the mainstream games and I'm glad some publishers are still getting the indie games out.
