And also, it might not be the best, but Crysis is one hell of a game, if you have a good rig. The sense of being at the place and Physics are sights to behold.
And warhead is even better!!!! Playing it right now.

All at a Gamestop conference. They were all along demo kiosks at various spots around the function room. I played R2 for about 10 minutes, played a race and a half of Motorstorm. The thing with both games is that they're almost exactly the same as their predecessors, I was hoping Motorstorm would progress more since it's first outing as the original got the bare-bones gameplay down pretty well but, like Burnout, needed a few more bells and whistles to make it a much more enjoyable experience.

To say it's bested by Pure is not true, Pure's a different game. Pure is actually just Excite Truck. And not even as good as Excite Truck. But I suppose it'd be quite good for those who haven't played Excite Truck. Another surprisingly good game is Shaun White's Snowboading game on the Wii. It uses the Wii Fit board and it's actually quite fun to play.

EDIT: the Crysis comment pertains to Crysis being a Sandbox FPS game (as Far Cry 2 is), which was also made by the creators of the original Far Cry.

EDIT 2: Motorstorm 2 is almost exactly the same as Motorstorm, it's good but it's not great. Graphically it's good, the physics as you drive through various vines and foliage is pretty nice, the water is nice too. Found myself crashing a lot too, some areas it can be hard to see what's up ahead, but that's all part of the challenge. I'm not saying Motorstorm 2 is bad, it's just not great, and not as much of a progression from Motorstorm as I'd hoped.

Resistance 2 has it's own problems. The game doesn't look good graphically. It's controls feel so "rigid" and unnatural. It feels like a PS2 FPS. I did notice updated gore effects that are quite nice, very gratuitous. But really it just didn't grab me. The first one had the same effect on me. It's a decent game, nothing spectacular about it. If you thought Resistance was great, then I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

EDIT 3: god damn it another one ;) You all have to understand that these are my opinions, I'm no professional games journalist and I wasn't trying to do a preview. @ SomeOneThatPlays: The Gears comment really means competition for my play time and personal vote as the best game of the season. And yeah, Far Cry 2 is HECTIC when a firefight breaks out. It's intense beyond belief, I did get shot to pieces a few times, they really tend to swarm all over. When you examine all your gadgets and options there's just so many different ways to do things in the game.

I only disagree because you leave no reasons why you were left unimpressed with resistance 2 and motorstorm 2. Seems a bit fishy to me.

Couldn't you say the same thing about Halo 3, or Gears of War 2? Based off what I have seen from those two titles, your point applies here as well.

It's not exactly how much different a sequel is, but rather how well it pulls of the improvements it makes from the previous iteration in the series. After all, if a game uses a formula that works really well, why try to drastically change it?

Far Cry 2 is designed so you can't take cover and is more on the action. With Resistance 2 I'll have to play it myself because it's about campaign (Nathan Hale), co-op (8 players), competitive (60 players),and community (msn like features).

Plus there is Socom: Confrontation, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, NBA '09: The Inside, Wipe Out HD, Valkyria Chronicles...etc. Those are just the exclusives and many other games the XBOX 360 has is on the PlayStation 3. So I'll be playing a lot of PlayStation 3 games.

Pure is nothing like Excite Truck. I've played both, and I've played Pure thoroughly. It's a shameful comparison really. Pure is like a mix of a really good racing game with deep customization(switch every little part on your 4-wheeler) and offroad madness with tricks and excellent controls.

It is just lightofdarknesses opinion that Farcry 2 is the best FPS out there. I am not a racing game fan so I am not impressed with Moto 2. As far as FPS goes I perfer to buy a game that has great multi-player. I am not a graphics whore so if a game has Clipping or frame rate drops I barely notice or care really. I just like replayability. So I think it depends on what you like personally. If you play games bc of great graphics then Crysis and Farcry 2 is your titles. If you want robuse multi-player then COD4 and Resistance 2 will be you type of games. All a matter of opinion and what you personally like.

The dev's have always made a point of telling you the platform. Regarding the differences I'm sure he's referring more console/PC than 360/PS3. As they have praised both the 360 and the PS3's ability to handle to DUNA engine.

Console differences will be negligible, the days of definitive differences are gone (at least from respected developers), still, PS3 might end up with an install so there hopes for a flame war yet.

So one guys "opinion" makes a game suck? wow Rhezin I'm sorry if you rely on reviews to judge your games I've seen some videos of Gears 2 and to me I thought it was Gears 1 playing and guess what the only reason I own a 360 today is because of Gears. So that saying it looks like Gears 1 your going to go by that opinion right!!! only you can judge a game, if you think it sucks that's your opinion 3 million other people might agree or disagree but does it really matter what they think ? NO I could care less what anyone thinks.
