Bizarre Anti-Spore Website Takes Issue WIth Stance On Creationism

Stuart Houghton of Kotaku writes: "The site purports to be a protest against Spore and its 'attack on Christian values' and consists of several Creature Creator movies of Penis Monsters and other Spore grotesques, alongside posts about what the author claims is the game's pro-evolutionary agenda and corrupting influence on children."

4 - So Spore..
Is an attack on Christian values?

Yeah, Spore purposely attacked Christian values. It purposely attacked the Christian faith.

I'm Catholic.

Keep religion out of games.

For sure, religion has no place in video games. So we should therefore get rid of that crap like "Left Behind: Eternal Forces", and those countless Bible games meant to brainwash kids.

Evolution, however, is a SCIENCE, and therefore is fair for any video game.

4.2 - Believing in a literal interpretation of Genesis isn't a value.
And a game, thought process, or belief that contradicts such interpretations isn't an attack on someones values. It might possibly be seen as an affront to some perceived authoritative stance. But so what?

Every time I read about them, they seem to be becoming more and more like a rabid cult, rather than what I remembered Christians or religious people in general to be. They seem to be getting a lot more overzealous, a lot more socially militant, in some ways. What happened to the live-and-let-live, love-thy-neighbors sort of thinking? I used to be under the impression that one of the most basic tenets of Christianity meant love and tolerance for others, under all circumstances.

Now all I sense is hate. Bitterness. Resentment towards everyone that doesn't necessarily follow the same beliefs as them.

I think if God exists which I don't deny, he would be horrified at how Christians have acted over the last 600 years or whatever. With all these religious wars, oppressed wills and what with large segments of the original bible being destroyed, this religion is all but a means to control people. Christianity lost its way a long, long time ago.

No death threats please.

You have to understand this is a small percetage of christians. I'm one of the normal ones. I love playing violent video games and, o my word, I love sex! A christian that loves sex! Stone the infidel! Anyway....

It's the crazy christians you only read about because the normals ones don't make any noise, so that's probably why some people think we're all crazy.

And for the record, Spore does not insult me or my values. However the DRM in spore does :P

Creationism bothers me more than most things being passed around in America right now. The staunch believers are actually hoping to dumb down our school system by attempting to force that nonsense into classes as an alternative to the proven science of evolution. Fighting for America's children to be taught faith instead of facts. Go creationists!

9 - Double standards!
I do believe that christains have their own games that specifically throw religion into the game. How self centered are they to think everyone believes that BS anyhow. I do not believe in christianity and would like them to stay out of it before they build a reputation for themselves like Jack Thompson did.

One question I have for those ID'ers out there.

How is it ID when we have useless organs? Extra teeth. Diseases. Hell, why does LIFE have to feed on LIFE? Is (insert Deity here) a macabre monster?

Speaking of Christians, I've talked to some at work who believe the earth is only 6000 years old.

About the game, I think it's a lot of fun. I don't care about the DRM stuff everyone is complaining about.

Maybe the Christians should build a Noah's Ark add-on and float around in the rain with two of every creature in Spore.

Maybe next they'll target all the Japanese games with different Gods and Deities and mystical powers, those are satanic!

13.1 - 25% of the Population think that the UNIVERSE (because it says so in the Bible) is 6K years old.
The Republican Vice Presidential pysco fundy Sara Palin THINKS the Earth is 6k years old.

Fun FACT...the LOWER your IQ, the MORE likely you are to believe in an omnipotent Deity. The HIGHER your IQ...all together now class...the LESS likely you are to believe in a God.(s)

Screw FACTS...just give me a 2K+ year old group of STORIES and I will base my ENTIRE LIFE off of it.

Ignorant Nomadic Cavemen for the WIN!!!

14 - Please stop
You religious people won't stop until everyone believes your stupid book. Your religion is a story just like every other religion. If you believe in one religion, then you have to believe them all. EVOLUTION IS A FACT! Look at all the damn clues! Our universe stretches for thousands of light years. One entity could not have possible designed the vastness and intricacies of space. Science is your friend, not the devil. So please quit trying to push your nonsense on people. You don't see people that don't believe in your story going to peoples houses at 8 in the morning trying to recruit non-believers. PLEASE PLEASE stop it.

just some quotes i thought fit the occasion...
"We can allow satellites, planets, suns, universe, nay whole systems of universe[s], to be governed by laws, but the smallest insect, we wish to be created at once by special act." Charles Darwin

"The more man puts into God, the less he retains in himself. The worker puts his life into the object; but now his life no longer belongs to him, but to the object." Karl Marx

"Is man one of God's blunders? Or is God one of man's blunders?" Friedrich Nietzsche

"I don't believe in God because I don't believe in Mother Goose." Clarence Darrow

"We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes." Gene Roddenberry

"Gods are fragile things; they may be killed by a whiff of science or a dose of common sense." Chapman Cohen

hope you enjoyed.

19 - Satire? doesn't really matter...
The fact that this whole deal with creationism is an actual ongoing discussion makes me sick. We should freaking know better by now. It's embarrasing.

There is no debate in the scientific community about evolution. None. To put it in perspective, there are four times more historians that reject the holocaust than there are scientists rejecting evolution. The supposed "controversy" is a pure fabrication, manufactured by right-wing religious nuts to get creationism into our schools.

So, to sum it up:
Science is awesome. Stop undermining it, douchebags.

Religon is a tool to control the masses, and always has been. Nowadays it is not as effective, but has great influence in government and is very profitable.
