Far Cry 2 enables editing of other player's maps

A post on the official Far Cry 2 blog has gone into a bit more detail about the map editing tool that ships with the game, confirming that you'll not only be able to download user-created maps from Xbox Live, but that you can make improvements and put them back.

I do too.
I find it suspicious that they will let this have UGC but wouldn't all allow it for UT3, we'll find out soon enough

Completely different to UT's mods. Here your not "modding" anything, it's user generated yes, but with in game tools and only items that can be chosen from a list. You not touching any code or the engine in anyway so there's no reason this would pose a problem with MS.

Mods and user generated content are not the same.

CommonSense, LBP content will all be free (user generated anyway).

Farcry Instincts Predator on 360 had user maps that ppl could download. So why wouldn't the sequel have the same feature?
I think MS just doesn't support a store like environment where ppl can get the free stuff. In FC for 360 u have to join the persons game and be prompted if u want to DL the map. Thats it.

As long as the original creator is still listed and ppl cant steal ur map like in Halo 3 it will be ok.
