Pure Is A Badass ATV Title: Demo Impressions (GameXtract)

GameXtract writes "Let me first start off by saying that I have never been a fan for the racing genre. I would occasionally pick up the hit racing titles such as the Gran Turismo series, and a Burnout title every once in a while, but my need for speed just simply wasn't their. With news of the Pure demo releasing today I was not thrilled, but being the bored gamer I was I went ahead, and downloaded the demo. What do I think of it? It's one badass ATV installment!"

i played the demo today on the PSN. a few months ago, i thought this game looked like a high-res PS2 game. it didnt look really good to me according to the trailer. Now, when i played the demo, i think its a pretty good game, but still not a contender to motorstorm.

I don't want to pass judgment too quickly. Its hard to guage the demo since it was more or less a time trial. A real race would have been a better representation og what the game is like. So far, all the game has is awesome jumps and nice tricks as far as doing something unique goes.

From what i have seen of pure and MS2, i think MS2 still wins

The game doesn't give you that rush that Motorstorm gives you. For those that are less fortunate and cannot get Motorstorm, Pure maybe the answer. For me Pure is too bland and there's stiffer competition these days. Not many people will pay $60 for Pure.

I thought the game was fun but I don't get all the hype over the graphics. It looks okay nothing more. Just based off a one race demo I like motorstorm a whole lot better.

Motorstorm 2 looks to add a whole lot more variety in vehicles, features, and locations.

2 - There is a fair amount of fun to be had on this game

I can say that without a doubt seeing has I just tried the demo myself

But for me personally, Motorstorm 2 is still my choice. Unless Motorstorm 2 is screwed up somehow, that's my number 1

Luckily I have money for both if I want. But if I could only choose one, it would be Motorstorm 2.

But I say to you all, give PURE a shot. It is well worth it and fun.

i dont think its "badass" at all, if it was "badass" i would be able to knock the other guy off his ATV. if it was "badass" their would be s*** exploding and debris flying all over. if it was "badass" i would know it right away. motorstorm is BADASS, pure is FUN. DONT GET IT TWISTED. btw the tricks aren't even all that. the game is fun but im not wasting my money for what it offers....

well said postedup, i must have played a different pure demo today cuz in the one i played all you do is tricks in the air, wth?????? am i missing something here????? how can people compare this game to the undisputed king of BRUTAL off road racing this gen?if i played the only pure demo there is , the game have nothing on motorstorm, i think its fun but thats all

im getting all the new ps3 exclusives coming out this holiday plus some of the ones i dont have that ive missed like Hots Shots Golf etc.

I really enjoyed the demo, I think Pure is trying to compete outright with MotorStorm especially since its focus is mainly on ATV's.

I think a lot of people are going to enjoy Pure, I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did but MotorStorm 2 is still on the top of my list as far as racing games I willing to buy this year.

the demo was fun, but not a lot exciting and new there

although i gotta say the graphics are pretty, really is an amazing looking game, especially the lighting and the mud effects

the part i was most looking forward to is absent from the demo(garage mode), i can see that being entertaining as well

you guys are missing the point.

the online and extreme customization is what will make or break this game.
1 16 players online all pulling off insane tricks could be nuts.
2 you actually build your own custom vehicle that performs how you want it. unlike ms where all vehicles are the same only the skin changes

This will be a day one purchase for me as the trick system really works well to increase your boost, the graphics blew me away the music grate the way the ATV rides good handling its got plenty of coulor wich motorstorm was lacking if you remember ms was all brown and not viberent like this game i got a feeling after seing videos of ms2 its more on par with sega rally might be wrong but pure is with 48tracks for me a better buy i think.

The racing was just too slow in the first one.

It was the best racing game out at the time of release but PURE definautly looks and plays sharper.

It was a fun game. I haven't really been into racers lately but this one looks like it might pull me back. Though I don't know if I'll get this at launch though. Got other games in mind.

I have both demos for ps3 and 360,actually i was suprised because the ps3 demo looked better.By that i mean sharper.Usually most multiplatform runs better on 360 but i guess developers now is starting to learn how to develop for ps3.This is only my personal opinion,might be wrong.Anyone else compared the demos?

Pure feels like a PSN game that should be worth 30 to 40 bucks.. Its fun in all but it just seems like one of those games your get bored with really quick.. Its definitely not worth 60 bucks... I played it a bit last night thinking it was burnout because the guy talking.. I dont see myself having a fun time with this game.. Just way to dull.. the racing aspect of the game is horrible to. The tricks are pretty cool but thats about it..

I honestly dont see why people are blowing this game up.. Its not that aweosome compared to motorstorm 1 or 2.. My money will be definitely going to motorstorm 2 because this game is just plain a$$ fun and now we get split screen..

Like i said motorstorm 2 is the the Super off road..

this game doesnt look anywhere close to motorstorm 1.. Theres so much going on in motorstorm compared to this game.. You dont see wrenks of havoc miles in front of you in pure.. People go play motorstorm 1 again and believe me you will be like pure looks like dog a$$ compared to this.. Motorstorm 1 still blows me away. Especially when cars are flying over you blowing up..
