Never heard of International Copyright Law? Doesn't matter if it's a company in Korea, New Line could sue the pants off of them for what is obviously a blatant rip off of not only graphical content, but entire camera cuts and battle scenes, which have been replicated with MINIMAL changes. I seriously doubt this falls under any sort of parody law either.

Agree 100%. World of Warcraft is not owning because it has stunning graphics. It's owning because it's "accessible". It has a learning curve which makes it great for new players. It can run on virtually every PC out there.
This game will be a flash in the pan. Seeing as it's being developed by a Korean company it's quite probable that the game play will involve a ton of grinding and the story won't be up to snuff.

I explained, in my comment, as to why it was accessible. The ability to run it on virtually any PC (or MAC) first allows it to be "accessed" by more people. Then the fact that it starts you off quite gradually helps people who aren't usually into video games get a hang of how the character is played.

As for the grind? It's possible to get a character from level 1 to level 70 purely by doing quests. Admittedly as far as quests go, there are only a few different types of quest mechanics available. This is one of those areas, however, that Blizzard has been quite inventive.

The only other game that I can think of that comes close to Blizzard in quest mechanics is Lord of the Rings Online. The quests that you do in the shire with mail and pie delivery stand out as my favorite over every MMO I've played so far.

You have to have a pretty old PC to not be able to play WoW. Sad though that most games announced for PC have specs beyond what the normal PC owners have. Then they say that PC gaming is dead because they made a game that only 10% of PC owners could play.Crisis comes to mind.

wow are u kidding me i cant belive u guys are making me logg into this website just to say this. This does Not look like lord of the rings at all are u kidding me. Where in Lord of the Rings do u see asian warriors? In all of those trailers given by Fishy Fingers i didnt see any elves or wizards.
Where in Lord of the Rings does a bow/arrow type gun exist? I think u guys are going overboard with the idea that this is copying lord of the rings simply because this game has massive armies, battles, warriors etc. But just because a game is epic doesnt mean its copying something else that is epic.
To me thats like saying Valve should sue IW because COD4 uses a first person view and copied guns such as the m4, AK,mp5 from Counter-Strike.

Thats really more like Valve coming out with a new FPS that copies Halo's art style, and story, even down to the same cutscenes only they replace MC with the Soldier from TF2. A lot of the Art work looks the exact same, only animated.

However after looking after the screenshots offered by the article i must say it does look like lord of the rings only after putting taking those specific screenshots of that game with specific scenes from the movie, im sure the same thing can be done with a racing movie and a racing game it is simply the same genre which is why it looks similar. This game uses swords and armor, Lord of the Rings uses swords and armor, Yes they are going to resemble a bit.

18 - Asian MMO... Ehhh...

My experience with both free and pay to play Asian MMOs has not left me with a high opinion of them as they seem like even more of a grind than their American counter parts. It just seems to take a lot longer to do anything and whatever it is you are doing seems extremely tedious.

I've never played this one myself but the graphics and game play footage just put me in the mind of a few other games that LOOKED nice but didn't play that well.

Most Asian MMO look and play the same. WOW has never claimed to look fantastic it's popular as its open to all players and doesn't generally need an amazing PC/Mac to play.

Those cutscenes are straight rip-off of the LOTR movie so I hope they get sued.

21 - This game is rather old news actually....

Soul of the Ultimate Nation (othereise known as SUN) has been released in Korea and has been in and out of beta for quite a while now. A North American release was supposed to happen in early 2007 but it never came and Webzen has since removed the NA website leaving only a link that directs to their home page.

The game was first open to the people of Korea back in 2005 (actually, only about 9-10 months after WoW was released.) and has since been released in S.Korea, Taiwan, and China.

As someone who has been active in the MMO genre I can say that I have been waiting on this game to be released sometime in the United States for, ohhhh, about 3 years now.

Also, the computer specs for SUN aren't that high at all:

* Windows 2000 or Windows XP
* Pentium 4 1.8GHz CPU
* 512 MB or more of RAM
* 3GB Hard disk space
* GeForce TI4200 or ATI RADEON 9200 GPU (128 MB Video memory)
* DirectX 9.0c or above

Plenty of people have those requirements these days and the recommended aren't much higher than that.

EDIT: Also, if your wondering why this game seems to take forever getting to other regions then you need to know one thing. These are the same guys who are making HUXLEY and considering how long that game has been in development you can imagine.

OH, almost forgot, anyone remember that PS3 game that was announced back in like 2004-2005 called "Endless Fantasy" and was supposed to be a console rpg for the, at the time, new next-gen system? Webzen was also behind that game and then cut development and have since almost removed all of their NA offices except for a few regarding MU Online. So, yeah, they make great games but they take forever to release them and its almost a miracle if they DO release them.
