Feel World of Warcraft - New Drivers for 3D Controller

A company that specialises in 3D touch technology, Novint Technologies, have announced they are developing drivers for World of Warcarft. The drivers will be for use with the Falcon controller, which replaces the mouse or joystick in some games.

This "robot" as Novint call it, will allow players to feel game actions, such as casting spells and combat. See the demo below:

1.1 - Agreed. I want one too. Could be the "future" of gaming
They just announced last week that Value signed an agreement with this company to incorporate the device into all Value games including patches for already released games like HL2 and TF2.

They have a new gun attachment. Supposedly really cool actually aim the gun and feel kick back.

Woah nice, I wonder if you'll get any kind of kick back while fighting with swords etc. I can see people dual wielding these things soon ^ ^

Yeah I'd like to at least try it, see if it lives up to the manufacturer's description.

4 - Let this be a lesson
to all controller and tech designers:

It doesn't matter if you have a good product. Lame demo vids with lame techno music does not a good marketing tool make.

Every so often I try these products but I can't seem to persevere. I always end up going back to my mouse and keyboard. Old habits....

Interesting device. Wonder how it plays out with World of Warcraft.

Nice, it could be a lot of fun if implemented correctly, probably not the best for 1st person shooters, but it would definitely have a place (placing tricky objects in Gary's mod definitely comes to mind). They just need to develop one of those drunk-tests where you need to move a loop around a wire without touching the edge.

I think our dental school was looking into these, with the idea being that you could practice drilling cavity preparations at home or in a computer suite and not in a lab/clinic. One day maybe ^.^
