Hidden Ex-Blizzard Artist in Splash Screen

The Blizzard Splash Screen they are showing this week before WWI contains the obvious "ice" image, with strange runes. What some people don't know is that in the page's code, there are hidden images, and they seem to be pointing straight at an ex-Blizzard artist (or perhaps not so "ex" any more).

Haha, purple walrus. Well, I can't see how that picture could be anything other than a "cartoony" motif anyway, so this sounds like it's spot on!

Blizzard are good, very good at making games and everything that comes with it, but they clearly excel at hype-ing. I don't even know what this is all about yet and I want to have to now already!

Well, apparently the game is Diablo 3, but what does the purple walrus have to do with stuff? Supposed to be a hint at being for D3, or something else all together?
