XFire Covering 'New' Blizzard Game Release

Eric Brighteyes of Diabloii.net alerted all Blizzard fans that Xfire have posted details of their coverage of the upcoming WWI event to be held in Paris later this month. Not that startling in itself but they do mention:

"Get behind the scenes with Xfire during WWI to:
Follow the opening ceremony and discover what NEW game will be announced in our chat rooms together with hundreds of other Blizzard fans"

Slip of the tongue, accidentally or accidentally on purpose or hype generator? You decide.

If nothing else it will get people talking about Xfire so it's a win win situation.

If the 'new' sentence is removed (probably at Blizzard's request) then it was probably a slip up.

How about a non-MMO warcraft 4.... probably not for a few years though, the time it takes Blizzard to make games and expansions, they could have made heaps more money over the last few years just making more expansions. Instead of laying back whatching the MMO subscription dollars roll in.

That would be fun, but is probably going to come AFTER SC2 + expansions are released, seeing as the WC3 team now is working on SC2, I assume they are the ones doing WC4.

Also, they GOT to release another Diablo before next WC game. I can tell you 100% sure they won't be introducing WC4, at the very least!

The first question is if this is not just another way to write the "we expected them to" line. If it is a valid slip of the tongue there are a few options:
- The revival of the Ghost project in whatever shape of form (argument would be that the project has come up in several interviews since it got put on hold and they always said its not cancelled).
- A "world of" Starcraft MMO kinda thing (argument for this would be that they did the same with Warcraft III).
- A new Diablo product, most likely some sort of MMO which is clearly long overdue.
- A new franchise might seem unlikely, but the impressive list of cancelled projects released by Blizzard not to long ago does suggest they do try to develop one.

Maybe I'm reading too far into the sentence "and discover what NEW game will be announced", but it could imply that it'll be a game that the public does not yet know about. This would rule out Ghost.

Alternatively, it could also mean "and discover what NEW game will be added to Xfire's supported games" - which would then include Starcraft 2 into the possibilities.

Guess we'll have to wait until WWI. =)

Hmmm.... Probally Diablo 3. Though I still want Starcraft 2 to come out like now. Last time I got to play it was at Blizzcon and it was a really early build but it was amazing and made the trip worth it.
