Of course it's more shameful. At least by watching adult movies, people get to see some action. WOW is no progress, no fun, no reward. j/k

But I really REALLY hate MMOs so for me, any addiction to MMO is shameful.

I have to agree. Because I never feel guilty for watching porn, but I want my one week back that I spent playing WoW.

I really don't understand why anyone wants to play a game that is 90% level grinding anyway.

Guilty over video games because you can't talk about it to non-gamers? Hmm I talk vids to non-gamers all the time :) they usually get what I'm saying but really why feel guilty over a game... unless of course this WoW has you doing nothing but playing the game. Addiction to a MMO is a no-no.

Funny thing is I actually stopped talking to a friend of mine because everything he mentioned was WoW related. I played WoW myself for 2 years but it got to the point where it was a chore to relate to him.

The most shameful thing is people that are addicted to second life. Some actually think that thats there real life until they have a power cut or somin

6 - I found that the problem with wow
is that you begin to feel cheated after playing for a really long time, and you feel ashamed for spending so much time and money on virtual property.

It's not so much the fact that you play the game, but the fact you've spent so much time, effort, money etc.

virtual property you cant even legally sell. I was addicted to it and it was my second job, except I didnt make a dime. I look back now and I am shocked at how I got sucked into their virtual world.

I could've done better at school

worked on other projects
etc.

that's time I'll never get back. =/

Comparing apples to orange. People feel shame because MMO's just suck away your time and life. If you are playing 6-8 and more hours a day you are most likely neglecting something else and you probably feel guilty for it. If you are looking for porn for 8 hours a day, then same boat, but porn is over and done with in about 1.5-2 minutes... well, ahem... nevermind ;)

Yeah, porn is where it's at :P I didn't play WOW because I wasted too much of my life and money on the EQ1. I didn't let myself get caught up this time... I started a band (if you want to see a performance, look up the Band Glasspaper, song Neverwanted on myspace) I lost 30 pounds, and I have a hot girlfriend now. I can't tell you how much happier real life makes me than my 4 years spent on eq 8 hours a day.

It comes from the fact that EVERYBODY has watched porn, and if you deny it, you're a friggin liar, and we all know it. There's not much shame in porn anymore because we can't rip on someone for watching it, because we all have, whereas with WoW, not everyone plays it, and it's considered sad and pathetic to be addicted to something so ridiculous. HA HA!

millions of geeks are prolly pissin and moanin in their grandma's basement as we speak.

And you know this will be their excuse:
"WoW is seen as more shameful because the media makes sex a common-place thing in our lives."

And yet they arent having any themselves.
GET OUT. GET LAID.

I cant believe there are 12-step and counciling groups for this inda thing. Parents should "try" to limit their children, and Adults...well, actually.....i have nothing to say to the Adults. I mean if they support themselves financially, and get some a$$ atleast once every 2 months or so, its okay. Sad, but okay.

i never played WOW, never will play anything that charge me $$$$ each month to play.

simple as that.

because i believe strongly, after you purchased a game, you are entitle to play it however you want, when you want, where ever you want, install on any machine unlimited, and that is call "OWNED".

many of my friends flamed-on and burn me back in the days, when i said WOW is pointless and too expensive, now all of them stopped playing WOW, finally realized what i said back then was right.

all the pussies they missed, the great time at the club, and many other fun activities they missed it all, because "oh i need to level and get more items."

LOL @ them, and now they are 24~26 years old, 3 years of WOW, now means nothing.

i rather use that monthly fee to a strip club, get some real entertainment going.

gaming suppose to be enjoyable, kill your time because you have extra time in life, we OWNED the game, NOT the game OWNED us.
