Intel demoes high-end PC games streamed to mobile

According to Intel we will soon be able to play Crysis on the bus to work!

The future of gaming on the move just got a whole lot more exciting.

Just imagine playing World of Warcraft, Crysis or Age of Conan on the move with no compromise in gameplay from playing the same games on a high-spec PC at home.

According to Intel this is no longer a dream a near-future possibility.

3 - We've been doing this for years
They are just upgrading it to a faster WiMax which allows a faster transfer rate.

This is basically like doing a remote desktop while your PC is playing a game. Today it works great for non-fast moving games and games where timing isn't an issue. RPG's and card games usually work fine.

Today this works, but with the bandwidth contraints we find Video is jerky and input is lagged. Here is the reason why it lags:

Something happens in a game. The visuals get streamed to your mobile phone. You react. Your input is sent back to the PC. The PC inputs to the game.

The data transmission isn't instant. If you tried shooting a moving target, even a second would cause one to miss.

I guess with faster network speed this might be fixed, but you also have to consider that the devices used to decode the video aren't powerful enough today. Mobile browsers can barely decode flash files. And usually don't stream video.

So we're looking at specific hardware and built in WiMax
