PS3 version of Red Alert 3 in limbo

In a recent walkthrough trailer for the game, EA mentions that Red Alert 3 is coming to the PC and Xbox 360, yet fails to mention a PS3 version.

PSU Writes:

This leaves us rather worried. We'd always assumed that the title would come to Sony's black behemoth, but when contacted for information, EA's Red Alert 3 community Manager commented, "I can't speak of the PS3 version right now..."

It's obviously coming for PS3 just hasn't been annouced. There's 2 red flags why you shouldn't care about this game anyway: It's published by EA and it's multiplatform. So they can keep this trash to themselves unless proven otherwise.

Nah its still command and conquer. It wont be too bad. Kinda like Burnout Paradise. Not everything EA touches can turn to s***. Try as they might, good games gt through sometimes.

That being said, EA needs to let go of the C&C Generals look. I want a return to RA2 style C&C. Something about the distance of the camera from the battlefield whilst playing on an incredibly high res made it more fun. I dont like this more horizontal look and all the attention being focused on up close unit textures. Id rather have a bigger battlefield and more things going WHOOT WHOOT KABOOOOM.

1.4 - EA.EA.EA.
Get w/ it.

The PS3 has mouse/keyboard support, PSeye support and it`s outselling the 360 at will.

EA get w/ the program.

Talk to the Burnout Team.

In the video it says coming to PC and Xbox 360 THIS FALL. Maybe that simply means the PS3 version is coming out later, that is all. I hope so, because if it does it would be awesome to play on a console WITH keyboard and mouse support.

It's a shame, since the PS3 one is the only version I'd buy since there's no way my PC would run it and no way the 360 version will have mouse/keyboard support.

EA wont can this. I doubt there is anything technically challenging about the game. At worst it will be a timed exclusive. Plenty of games i can play whilst i wait.

I was seriously hoping to get this this year. I love C&C 3 and wanted to play RA3 Co-Op with my bud. This is gay has hell.

Seems odd they would cancel given they just said most their money is coming from Playstation. Oh well.

I doubt they will cancel. The team that worked on C&C 3 is working of RA3 and I dont think they have had much experience with the PS3. I would think EA would send over some more seasoned vets to handle it, but who knows.

I cant wait to see the look on the devs faces when a whole bunch of rosemary and thyme scented veterinarians turn up on their door.

@ Bathy - Cheers.

I was always more of a C&C fan, Red Alert was fun but felt a little more unbalanced than C&C was. In multiplayer it always seemed to be a case of who could build the most airfields first. That said as a PS3 owner I'm eager to have some RTS games for that system.

10 - MS at work with "exlcusivity" again
.. and partnering up with EA is like a family get together so I'm sure it wasn't a tough sell to get EA to give this game some sort of timed exclusivity on the 360.

It's sad and disgusting how MS has totally turned this industry into the dirty crap we see in the media and community. Before they came along the industry was never like this - with out of control decet, slander and misinformation galore.

Every field MS ventures into they soil with their nasty business practices and I for one will be glad when they exit the console race.

I was looking forward to this in August after I play CIV:rev next month and now it seems MS & EA will aid in keeping this game away from PS3 users 'till maybe next year. MS would have to be giving one hell of an incentive for EA to forgo extra cash for the Christmas rush period though.

If I wasn't such a sucker for RTSs I jsut wouldn't even bother with games like this but I'm just a hopeless RTS fan and I feel I NEED to support RTSs on consoles so we can have even more of them this gen.

red alert isn't a big hit like GTA IV or bioshock so I don't believe that MS would shell out for the exclusive.

EA is in for the money, so they'll wanna bring it out on ALL platforms (even the wii if they have to). Their programmers probably suck at getting it to work at a reasonable frame rate (as usual).

Maybe if they are taking their time with the PS3 version, they can add mouse and keyboard support! ^_^
