Age of Conan Fastest Selling Game of All Time?

In a press release issued today, Funcom has quoted some fun statistics about the launch and several days after. As a result of the statistics, Funcom has toted Age of Conan as the "fastest selling game of all time."
Updates:
It appears that they were being very specific and throwing in some PR spin. Either way they have toted it as ONE OF the fastest selling PC GAMES of all time.

Those numbers are good but that's not really anywhere close to WoW: TBC numbers. TBC sold a few millions (2-3 i think) in the first 24 hours.

That's what I'm thinking, even still I think WoW had a few sales records from the start for a MMO. Well I'm glad Funcom is seeing success with this, maybe some things will trickle back into Anarchy Online (getting a graphics update woot) and that they'll make another Longest Journey.

2.4 million Burning Crusades bought/downloaded in 24 hours...

This game will get an audience, and this is good PR to make sure it has legs for a while still. The important thing for any MMO os to get a solid base. Clearly Conana has that and will be enjoyed for years to come.

7.1 - I have it and it is really good
I have played EQ, WoW, EQ2, FF11 and even tried DDO and I have to honestly say that this game has the most potential of any MMO I have played. The graphics are beautiful and it is a lot of fun to play....fatality kills, lots of bloodshed, adult-like storyline and and interesting NPC's. This game is however a beast to run. You need quite a healthy PC to run it all out with max graphics. Fortunately my machine was up to the task with the addition of a better graphics card and 2 more gigs of memory (upgraded from a geforce 7800gtoc to the geforce 9800gtx and from 2 gigs of memory to 4 gigs). Definitely looks good as far as the future of this game is concerned. Funcom got it mostly right from the start....very nice.

bought the game today and installed. Servers were down for maint so I didn't get to play it. I really hope its really good like reviews say. I also played wow and other mmos. This will be nice and fresh experience.

12 - Its all hype
After the first 20 levels the game's flaws really start to poke through. Too many instances and the fact its an MMO where you spend a considerable amount of time playing offline sounds like a ripoff. Sometimes I find myself with 15-20 people in a zone and wonder where the hell everyone is, the population is really small for a MMO. It turns out they're all in five different instances of the same outdoor zone. Lame.

Maybe I'm just cheap but I have a real problem with spending $50.00 on a game then having to spend $15.00 a month just to play it! Age of Conan is spectacular in the graphics and I have the rig to play it with. What ever happened to games you could buy, take home and play on the PC? Doing an online extra is okay but what about those of us who are not inclined to spend a monthly tipen just to play?

14 - Buddy pass exists but not working atm
They include a 7 day buddy pass that you can use to create your account (which req a key that your buddy will get you via their registered account)

Unfortunately that is not up atm. I have a couple of friends who also want to try it before they buy it, I highly recommend the game. I came from EQ2, WoW, FFXI, Guildwars and never looked back
