More BioShock PS3 Details Emerge From EGM

Did you hear? BioShock is coming to the PlayStation 3. We're totally 100% sure of it, because the announcement made not only the cover of PSM3 magazine, but local favorite EGM as well. BioShock is featured prominently-but not as prominently as Gears of War 2-in the mag's July issue and helps to explain why PSM3 said it's "better on PS3."

PS3 getting all the old 360 exclusives. PS3 games seem to be bashed more at reviews than 360's sadly. Anyone want to bet a bubble Bioshock for PS3 will score lower than 360's? :p

Who cares? Reviews are opinion, not fact. Form your own, not some arbitrary and totally random, nonuniversal scoring system. Use a review to inform, not to judge. That's where people trip up.

But yes, the I hate PS3 bias from the media is still heavy, sadly. I just can't wait to see what extras we get, and how substantial they are.

Bioshock was not a Xbox 360 Exclusive game because it was released on the PC as well. Exclusive means that it's only one ONE console.

At least the PS3 actually have exclusives and THEY STAY EXCLUSIVE.

doesn't matter.

its like this:

when the regular joe walks into the store, he sees ps3, he sees 360.

he kind of wants a ps3, but he's heard about bioshock...available only on 360.

then he looks and sees it, along with lost planet and saints row 2 on the ps3 shelf...

he makes a decision

bottom line is...the more exclusives 360 loses, just gives regular joes (meaning people not beasting on the internet like us regulars) ONE less reason to buy one.

they don't know how it performs on one system or another, they don't know the review scores, they don't know wtf 720p as opposed to 556p is, they don't know which version has 2X AA or not...

they see PS3-Bioshock, and they see 360-Bioshock.

they have a ps2 already...chances are, they're gonna go for the PS3 and its copy of Bioshock to go with it.

I never considered Bioshock a must have game title, but I guess it's cool that it's coming to the PS3. Plus, the PS3 version was said to have better graphics as well as the extra content, so that's a plus.

2K Games should have released the game on the PS3 last year when it launched on the Xbox 360 anyways, and Bioshock 2 had better be coming out on the PS3 Q3-Q4 2009 just like the Xbox 360 version too.

I'm subscribed to EGM and I look forward to reading about it in the new issue.

I second bubble on this matter! we can simply say like you said, "who cares??" but the fact is, it happened and is going to happen again with Bioshock regardless how great it was on 360! this just shows how corrupted are most of the major review sites these days! sadly, uninform people and a lot of gamers alike might trust them as a good source of info prior to their purchases but not many of them knew how corrupted they have gotten these days!! for me, I'll only trust PS mags for PS3 games - whether they're exclusives or not.

well lets see we'll get all of your DLC. it well fit our screens the way it was meant to. and well probably have improved visuals. so if it gets lower scores, than it's most likely the reviewers showing obvious bias.

sadly, I think you're right that many PS2 owners will overlook the 360 based solely on their familiarity with sony. that's too bad because the 360 still has some great experiences you can't get on the PS3, that are at least worth consideration...

Highly recommend Bioshock....Great game and probably the best atmosphere I have seen in a next gen game so far.....makes you actually feel like the city could have been real.....awesome artstyle

People like this aren't even worth the energy you used to type that. They would rather use this as some sort of positive PS3 propaganda than good news for people that like good video games. lol you do know bioshock is a fps?? and did'nt the sony europe boss just say that the ps3 is the new fps console??? anyway, where are all the rpg's and variety on the ps3? all you have is driving/shooting and action games...oh except for the single platformer and single lara croft style game. apart from that, the genres are limited to say the least.....that's why the sony faithful are applauding bioshock coming to the ps3.

Bubbles for you. Some people need a bull whip to the face. Seriously though...why is Bioshock so important to PS3 users, a year after release? These are the same people that discounted the Game of the Year as nothing more than another FPS on Xbox and PC; furthermore it was argued that Bioshock wasn't an exclusive because "millions of PS3 users" could play it on their PC's. I guess a lot of people with PS3's didn't play it on their computers, because they came out of the closet about their secret....they never played the game because a) it was on Xbox (it must be shunned) and b) they didn't have good enough PC's as they said they did. A year old port for full price is nothing to gloat over. The exact same experience can be had w/ all enhancements built in on the Xbox and PC for $30...And for those of you claiming the PS3 version will be superior, read the fine print. Superior is often used to refer to a port that has all the updates of the original...with the original being sans updates at retail. If you graphic affectionados on the PS3 are so concerned with graphics, buy it on the PC.

My 360 buddy is always saying how great this game is. How the experience was one of the best he's had in gaming. Of course, the game probably sucks now that it is on PS3. Since this news was announced, I've seen countless "BioShock is so last year" comments from angry 360 owners. Regardless, I'll check out the "better" version.

I have a PS3 and a 360 and this game for me was the best game I played all year but this year we have MGS4, and last years best. How about, and don't forget Resistance 2. 2008 will be the best and 2009 will kick off with a BANg with Killzone 2. I feel sorry for those who can't buy a PS3 this year.

but i imagine they are even harder for the guy that DOESN'T have either.

i mean, look at it this way; consumer Joe walks into the store, looking to get in on all this HD hoopla. he's already bought the HDTV, so now he's looking for a console to show it off.

on one hand, you have the X Box 360.

considering that some of the most praised and talked about 360 games are now coming to the PS3 (from Bioshock, to Eternal Sonata, and possibly Mass Effect 2 and 3), i think it's kind of obvious which console Joe may find more appetizing. especially coupled with the fact that the PS3 is also a kick@ss Blu Ray player (Iron Man on Blu Ray, anyone?).

i'm not saying the 360 has a "weak" lineup of games. far from it. i'll own every single one of those games i listed above outside of Gears of War 2 (i just couldn't get into that game, maybe i'll give the first one another chance, just to be 100% certain), just that, as far as quality and variety, the PS3 has all those bases covered, and then some.

i'll be picking up Bioshock for my PS3, for the extra content and features (here's hoping for some good HOME support), but my 360 will be getting some love also.

i'll probably be done with Haze by the time Ninja Gaiden 2 hits. and against my better judgment (Sigma pissed me off so much...but i couldn't stop playing it), that i may actually buy NG2. it just looks so bad@ss. NG2 will tide me over for the few short days until MGS4 hits, then MGS4 will keep me busy for June, and i'll probably go back to beating my few 360 and PS2 and PS3 titles that i haven't beaten since i got sucked into GTAIV last month.

being a multi-console owner is simply the best way to go. it's costly, don't get me wrong, but you get to enjoy so many more excellent games that way.

my current problem is trying to put aside the money to be able to afford all those games i listed above, and all the multi-plats coming out also (ie, Fallout 3 is on my must buy list, as is Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones, and so many more i don't even want to THINK about how much money i'm going to spend on games this year!).
