Plus I hear there taking it back again to world war 2 I believe. I dont know or it will be as good as call of duty 4, plus with out Infinity Ward who made call of duty 4, this might be just a rush job to make more money for Activision. Sorry but ill be too busy with other games. :)

Well, I suppose the sooner this game comes out the better.

Then by the time Infinity Ward are ready to release Call of Duty 6 everyone will have forgotten about the bad taste in their mouths left by CoD5.

I really hope it doesn't give the CoD franchise a bad name. that would suck for IW.

No, it's more like Activision is MAKING them make this game. Activision has made it publicly known that will milk their franchises to death. A Tony Hawk every year, fourth Guitar Hero game (not counting 80's and Aerosmith) in four years, scores of Call of Duty games for various consoles since '03 and now even a card game.

Activison is exactly what EA has been for a while and is trying to somewhat get away from.

I hope they don't hash this thing out just to make money! I'd rather them take their time and release it November 2009 to ensure the quality is there.

Last year it was the only solid multi-platform shooter and owned the market. This year we have pretty big exclusive shooter on both platforms so the competition may prevent COD 5 from selling as much this year due to Resistence 2 and Gears 2.

not only are treyarch developing this, it looks like activision are doing with the franchise what ubi did with splinter-cell: 1 year IW build an installment, and it's followed within a year by another installment built by another studio. and they are using the same game engine... i can see them milking the game engine til the next-gen of consoles roles around.

cod2 IW excellent game
cod3 treyarch crap game
cod4 IW good campaign(where's the co-op though?) and superb on-line
cod5??? i'm not confident seeing how cod3 was screwed up. and the on-line was terrible. any slight router conflicts would ruin the game for everyone in the room. or no-one would be able to see your game or join from invites.

but really ... what are their options? If they don't release the game now it would also prolong COD6. Not to mention prolonging its release stacks it up against KZ2 and other possible big hits next year.

I don't really see as though they have much of a choice. Personally ... I'm getting RFOM2 to quell my FPS needs until KZ2 comes out. COD6 would probably get my money after that.

Rumours strongly suggest it will be set in WW2's "Pacific War". So the focus will be the Americans and Japanese (no more Nazis!).

It'll be interesting to see if the attitude towards war is consistent with COD4 and Clint Eastwood's "Flags of Our Fathers" & "Letters from Iwo Jima" or if the whole thing will be a "Saving Private Ryan" flag raising and propaganda exercise at Iwo Jima! lol :P

I'm betting on the latter, but I just wish they'd acknowledge the Aussies efforts on the Kokoda Track... not that I'm holding out any realistic hopes of that happening either! :(

I know RFOM2 is going to be in the same time period, but it's not a traditional WWII game. There's aliens and cool weapons. I think doing WWII all over again sort of takes the series back a step. I want to play with newer weapons and not the same bolt action rifle. I just think it's harder to innovate and do something fresh with weapons when you have a limiting factor such as actual history.

i somewhat have to agree with you. not the language part but in the fact i lost a bubble yesterday for some apparent reason. i dont cuss in post or make fun of people. i even wrote N4G asking the reason the post was deleted and why i lost a bubble so i dont make the same mistake again but still have yet to hear a reply. i used to hold this sight as my top gaming sight but after yesterday i have a bitter taste in my mouth when i say N4G. hopefully when i get me bubble back i can see this sight the way i did before, but we shall see.
