Interview: BioWare Fans Have a Mass Effect

Every gaming-news outlet in town made its way to last night's EA pre-E3 event in downtown San Francisco, so grabbing time with muckety-mucks was no easy task. That's why PC Gamer caught up with BioWare General Manager and EA Vice President Ray Muzyka outside the men's bathroom. Unfazed by the ongoing flushes from fellow party-goers, he chatted with them about piracy protection, PC-gaming love, and the power of the people.

Mass Effect is a terrific game. A technological marvel -- it looked aweseme and it played awesome -- just a tour-de-force in RPG gaming.

BioWare has set the bar very very high for any competitor.

The Mass Effect DLC on Xbox LIVE was terrific, I hope they release more DLC before the release of Mass Effect 2.

And, its so cool that they are planning to let gamers continue -- with the same CHARACTER -- right into the new game. More innovative gameplay and features for Xbox 360 owners.

I cant wait.

1.1 - Now that I know the Mass Effect trilogy will be on the PC
There's no freaking way I'll play it on the Xbox 360 or the next Xbox.

The PC version is even better and improved on the 360 version, and the wait is only 6 months apart. And the requirements on the PC are not even too high.

The next Mass Effect will be released on Xbox 360 and PC at the same time. So why would anyone want to play it on Xbox 360??

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling ripped off when BioWare announced Mass Effect for the PC. The only reason I got an Xbox 360 was for Mass Effect, under the assumption that it's a true exclusive or that I'd have to wait two years for a PC port (like Jade Empire.) I don't even like FPS or shooter. So what's the point of me buying an Xbox 360?

"So why would anyone want to play it on Xbox 360?? "
PC-$600+
360-$300

It's really simple math here.

But for a more, I for one would rather play the game on my 32 inch TV with surround than my `9 inch monitor with 2 speakers. For some reason you're make the assumption that everyone has a PC or people would prefer a PC over a couch, TV, surround. And that's a really bad assumption.

And I for one would rather play the game on my 60 inch TV using my PC whilst sitting on my couch. Your comment implies to me that you assume that consoles are exclusive to televisions and PCs exclusive to monitors. Well, let me inform you that that is most certainly not the case.

I loved mass effect. It was my favorite RPG ever. Why would i choose it on the 360 rather than pc? Well its easier to put it on my 360 and sit in front of my tv than hunched over my keyboard. My 360 is linked to my surround sound whilst my ps is not. Plus i can chat to my mates on xbox live while i play it.
Now i know a lot of pc users have a great set up linked to there tv etc but my pc is just run of the mill and all that installing etc drives me nuts. Just personnal taste i guess.
