No Alan Wake In 2008

A Microsoft Spokesperson has told TVG that Microsoft's Gamers Day (soon to start in San Francisco) is showcasing all of the company's major game releases for 2008, strongly suggesting that triple A title Alan Wake (which isn't on show at the event) will quietly slip into the 2009 release window that gamers all probably knew but hoped wouldn't happen.

Billed as a free roaming, psychological thriller that takes place across six square miles of the town Bright Falls, Alan Wake was originally announced at E3 2005 and subsequently revealed as an Xbox 360/PC exclusive at E3 2006. Since then everything has gone extremely quiet, not even a new trailer in the subsequent years.

I've got my fingers crossed that it comes out in early 2009. ;)

Well when ever it comes out I'll be getting it. If Max Payne is anything to go by these people know how to work with game mechanics.

I'd like to see people complain about sony showing KZ2 @ E3 05 and delaying it till Feb next year, in light of this from MS. I'm not saying any company sucks, It's just that I hate hearing the whiney people who can't bear delays. Good things take time, deal with it... Be it PS3 or 360.

by the trailer and physics engine that was shown a while back. I had a feeling that Alan Wake wouldn't be released in '08 anyways bc Remedy/Microsoft never mentioned a release date.

Yeah I agree but then makes you wonder why it still isn't coming out after been announced a while back. Is been over 2 years since we have heard anything about the game.

If the 360 version is not ready, they should at least release the PC version. I really wanna play this game already.

I am so sad.Well we will just have to make do with what we are going to get.NG2,Too Human,Banjo3,Gears 2,Fable 2,Halo Wars and Infinite Undiscovery.

Not looking to bad but Alan wake would have been a great addition.

EDIT:this should be a lesson to both Sony and Microsoft.Dont show games until they are ready.

6.2 - Its does not matter that Killzone 2 is delayed...
It still not delayed as much as Alan Wake....Killzone 2 is aready up and running...its not vaporware...and it will come out in 2009....and it will be awesome. The developers just needed time...and money and they got both.....and its good that gears 2 comes out before killzone 2...because we all know Killzone 2 will look and hopefully play better than Gears 2.

Fanboys are going to love this, i dare not step foot in the open zone. Its a shame to it looked realy good, and the xbox needs some great games this year but a delay is not all bad it only gives them more time to improve the gameplay not to mention thoses great graphics.

Wasn't there a max payne sequal announced? If the next xbox is coming in 2010, then when is that supposed to come out? I'm sure alan wake is coming 2009 so would that mean the next max payne won't come out this gen? Aren't the max payne people working on alan wake?

What does PC/360 exclusive even mean?
I know what it says, but what does it mean.

Meaning ... They made the game for (2)two specific platforms instead of (1)one.
I thought exclusive meant simply, just for one.
I am confused.

5. Complete; undivided: gained their exclusive attention.

exclusive is suppose to relate to a SOLE entity, so saying PC/360 isn't really exclusive in the definition.

but then, being published soley by MS makes it so.

PC/360 Exclusive is MS's own definition of exclusive. The obvious people will tell you that it's Microsoft exclusive and you have to give money to MS because of windows..yada yada.

It's a contradiction. The game will be available on PC and on the 360. People that have the 360 might not have a PC that handles the game and people with gaming PC's might not have an xbox 360.

So the term "PC/360 exclusive" only makes sense to MS and 360 fanatics.

and one more point for all the 360 ppl that love the term AAA

how can they call it a AAA game without have a metric score? I know why they can because they must think of AAA like i do. Its about the production more then the score

I pretty much already knew Alan Wake wasn't coming out in 2008.

There's been more info and trailers about Killzone 2 and it's coming Februrary 2009, but there's been nothing shown about Alan Wake. Alan Wake is probably at least another year away.

Oh no this is poo! I was looking forward to this title! Now there really is nothing to get me excited for my 360. Gears1 was ok but for me was just another shooter and i doubt Gears2 will be any different. NG2 does not appeal to me, and Too Human is really not my type. Maybe Splinter Cell will spark some interest but i`ve never been crazy for the series. I`m a huge racing games fan but the x360 is lacking racing games this year. Seriously i can`t see anything big for my x360 gaming this year. Never mind, as long as i got the ps3 i don`t need to worry.
