Age of Conan will take "250" hours to get to level 80

Funcom has revealed that getting to level 80 in upcoming MMO Age of Conan will take on average 250 hours.

Speaking at the game's official launch in Oslo, Norway, Game Director Gaute Godager said that Age of Conan's "levelling curve provides on average 250 hours of gameplay".

He also explained that it will take between two to three hours to gain a level in the game right up to level 60. Gaining a level after that will take longer, a tweak the team made following feedback from the recent beta.

All I know is I don`t even want to see my time played on my main of 4 years in WoW. This article made me think of that. 250 hours seems normal.

Yeah my time logged on WoW made me sick right before I quit. I could of got a degree in something instead of having 5 lvl 70's.

I have given up entirely on MMOs.

I know video games in general are inherently pointless timesinks, but MMOs take that to a whole new level I'm not comfortable with. At least single player games have a story that's often times worth sitting through and even, on rare occasions, is arguably a form of art (Bioshock, etc.)

I'm tired of paying companies $15 a month to play a game that, by definition, never ends and seems to be scientifically designed to be both as addicting and pointless as possible.

Agreed. I received a beta code and didn't download it for the same reason. These games are crack to me.

Seriously, I have a life outside of gaming. I had to sell Oblivion because it took me 3 months to play about 20% of that game. It drove me and my girlfriend insane. lol.
