Now that they've got their hands on GTA IV, Sarcastic Gamer's resident uber-gamer has prepared his guide for newbies, so they can kick some tail in GTA IV's multiplayer.

1 - Thanks for the summaries of game types
it's much nicer to read them on the clock at work than to sit at home and be expected to give up game time to read the manual... ;)

A couple of those modes sound like a blast. I'm going to give a serious go at the single player before I allow myself to get drawn into the multiplayer aspect.

I saw a video online of a user-made game mode where 16 people play and load up on weapons, they then fly 8 to the top of the "Empire State Building" replica, and separate for a minute or so. Then 8 guys in helicopters try to take down the 8 guys on the skyscraper. They called the mode King Kong. That kind of flexibility is pretty awesome, if you ask me.

Too bad you can barely to connect to one on Xbox Live. I always get disconnected, but sometimes I manage to find one. Good guide though.

the connection goes in and out when trying to first get to multiplayer but once your in you can stay in for sometime i have ps3 version by the way

Nice guide. One thing I would like to know how much customization there is for the custom characters? I have about 8 or 9 items for each category so far but I want know how many there actually are that you could unlock. I'm hoping its everything that the npcs and niko wears in game.. that would so rock.
