BioShock not coming to PS3

The Rumour: Contrary to popular belief, 2K Games' BioShock or its in-development sequel are not coming to the PlayStation 3. They will remain Xbox 360 and PC exclusive. This is due to Microsoft paying for exclusive rights and the extra effort required of a PS3 port.

Verdict: This one comes from rumour blogging legend Surfer Girl and goes directly against the Rumour from EGM that claimed the original game was heading to the PS3.

"BioShock is still not coming to PS3 nor is there plans for a PS3 version of its sequel," reads the blog.

Given BioShock's huge success on the Xbox 360 it's perfectly reasonable to expect Microsoft to want it to remain a platform exclusive. With so little known about the sequel, though, it's a little early to be saying it's a guaranteed exclusive.

I really dont trust surfer girl... she just makes a load of guesses. This is something that could be either way, its 50-50 only the devs know... her guess is probably right to be honest but its a guess.

1.1 - I totally agree with you, dude.
Surfer "Girl" is a joke. She usually just points out the obvious; like with Bioshock. That debate happened already and now the internet is rehashing it, so "she" merely restates what had already been settled as if it's news.

Why do we care about a game that takes 8 hours to beat first try and very low replay value? Interesting story, good plot twist (yes I've played it my gamercard proves it) however once you beat it unless your an achievement whore or you missed something story-wise (or trying for the good ending) there's really nothing else.

but..... they DO pay for exclusives

what the hell is this bullsh!t rumor that Sony doesn't pay for exclusives, of course they do

they fund games like Lair and HS to keep them exclusive and they pay for exclusives

Kaz Hirai was planning to buy Assasins Creed and GTA4 as exclusives but apparently he was too slow in finalising the deals

ok here's my rundown

1) how much is MS really willing to pay for a game that isnt even exclusive to the 360, im sure they could let Bioshock go- i dont know if they're prepared to cover the financial cost of the loss of sales by 2k were they not to release Bio 2 on the PS3, they're rich- but how far are they prepared to go for a game that will be on PC anyway?

2)the job listing certainly isn't conclusive proof, but it does seem like a good idea anyway- i hope they go through with it because i love playing games in co-op with a mate

3)i'd be surprised if it wasn't, i mean if you look at scale of things in GTA you just cant possibly imagine it NOT being the most expensive game
