Starcraft Turns Ten Years Old Today

On March 31, 1998, Blizzard Entertainment released StarCraft, a revolutionary real-time strategy game pitting three powerful and distinctive races against each other in a war-torn galaxy. In StarCraft, the resourceful terrans, mysterious protoss, and relentless zerg find themselves in a confluence of events that has only one possible outcome: an epic war for conquest and survival.

The year of its release, more than 1.5 million copies of StarCraft were sold around the world, making it the bestselling PC game of 1998. To date, it has sold more than 9.5 million copies worldwide. A considerable number of those copies have been sold in South Korea, where the game continues to enjoy unprecedented levels of popularity.

10 years old and the game is STILL relevant. Thats just amazing to me. Blizzard are UNTOUCHABLE with their IPs. Simply will never be outdone by any other games ever.

And ten years later, we're getting the sequel.

The wait has been unbearable.

Also....I am starting to get sick of waiting for Diablo 3.

Everybody wants it....just give it to us....it's been almost a decade, dammit!

personally, I prefered C&C red alert to starcraft.
Red Alert had more imagination to me.

The greatest game ever made.
It's disturbing how much I played StarCraft and its expansion. Even today I continue to play it fairly regularly.

7 - I know a lot of folks throw this phrase around...
but having since played the game that long ago, I have always said that Starcraft is my favorite game ever.

I have always, and continue to be a console only gamer too, and this game has a death grip on me. I hope they deliver with the sequel.
