C&C Red Alert 3 coming to PC, X360 and PS3

EA has today announced the development of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a PC beta set for later this year.

In development at EA LA, Red Alert 3 is promising to break new ground in the RTS genre, featuring a fully cooperative campaign while maintaining the series' action-orientated gameplay.

1.1 - RTS suck without a mouse.
I hope the PS3 gets mouse support.

The 360 never will.

I now have 4 games on my must have PS3 radar. RA3, GTA5, RFOM2 and LBP.

yep. they ought to do it too. It would sell better on the ps3 then it would w/o k&m support. Its to the PC if it doesnt support it.

What? PS3 supports keyboard and mouse already... I use it for Yellow Dog, because you can't use your controller using an OS like that, lol..

You probably mean KB/M support for the actual game.

"PS3 fans mentality is strange on this one.... this game on the PC would probably require like 1-2 GB of memory and therefore offer larger maps, more units, etc..."

this is why ALL ps3 have a hard disk for caching

Bro you are such a HATER. Seriously man, give it a rest. The PS3 WILL have keyboard and mouse support, and yes that will make it a superior version to the 360 version.

"Why would developers make a dumb down version of a game put it on a console and add keyboard support..."

PC gaming is declining, and maybe some of these companies would like to remain in business hence a lot of these franchises are being made on consoles. UT3 for the PS3 is just as good as the PC version.

Give it up kid.

Answer: Not everyone has a gaming PC. Therefore, a PS3 version is a worthy alternative.

Hey bladestar, you wanna buy me a computer? I didnt think so. Options, its all about options.

OH and i can guarantee you that the PS3 could handle anything RA3 has to offer. Its an RTS for god sakes. Get over it. It doesnt NEED to be dumbed down, but I am sure it WILL be.

Based on your comment its that time of the month again.

if someone cam up to you and said "do you want just controller support or controller and kb/m support" which would you pick?

as you 360 fans like to point out- playing on a console hooked up to a great HDTV and audio system without having to worry about PC stuff like specs is better than playing the PC version

same thing goes for the PS3 version of C&C

as someone said above- its all about the options

Man, I am waiting for this since years. Sitting back and being able to play an RTS on my bigscreen with mouse and KB. Why would I want a PC for that ?

5 - PS3 will have K/M suuport, and x360 will never do!
funny that all 360 fans still argue! RTS without K/M is useless, end of story!

Doesn't change the fact that you need some sort of mouse support in the software to drag the rectangle to select your troops. But I have to admit, I have no idea if that controller emulates the mouse, or it uses a complete new control scheme.

Ju: As you pretty much would have guessed those adaptors the only thing they do is redistribute the analog to the mouse and the buttons to the keyboard and the "precision adjustment" some claim to have its just a acceleration of the analogs that only adds moving speed but doesn't generate precision and that is the whole point of the M&K deal

and like you mentioned the game would require real M&K drivers to effectively work because if you use this devices the game will still think there is just a standard controller pluged in

so basically unless the game is designed with incorporated M&K drivers (Like UT3 on the PS3) you are basically giving money to play on a different "visual" presentation of the same standard controller or "gamepad"

9 - YAYYY RTS for the PS3!!!
FANTASTIC. I'm sure this will have K/M support on the PS3 but as long as they focus on the gamepad and console gamers then it's all good.

K/M is a good option but I wouldn't want this as solely K/M cause if I wanted to PC game, I would... and I don't. I'm not a PC gamer and if a game comes on consoles then it should be made around console gamers in mind first.

It's great PS3 has K/M option. I guess the 360 will lose out on bringing in PC gamers (cause we all know most PC gamers dont' have the rig to run games like this near as good as the PS3 or 360 would - even though they may pretend to have a $6000 rig that that magically got for $300 lol) and the wii... well it's.. the wii.

10 - hey Guys !!
PS3 already have keyboard and mouse support! check UT3 for the PS3 same thing. But EA will have to make it support both for the PS3 like UT3.

Keyboard and mouse for ps3 would also be nice, why i would want that? Because i dont play games on my computer, i only have a laptop to do some work on and browse the net. I have a 46 bravia full hd and a Audio pro Avanti 100 soundsystem in my livingroom, thats why i want keyboard and mouse support for the ps3 version.

If you want keyboard&mouse control on the 360 get the XFPS as mentioned above.

It does the trick perfectly. I am glad I left my keyboard and mouse at my PC desk, like to game from the couch with just a controller that fits in my hands

15 - Who the hell
Wants to sit in a sofa infront of a tv with a m&k? My back would hurt like hell. Seriously Play this on a pc. My guess is that its slowed down for console players. Since there isnt 100% m&k coverage it will be built around the controller with an option to use m&k = gameplay compromises. I hope PC is the plattform its developed for...

So, I would propose, the EA should not only support KB/Mouse for the PS3, but also for the 360. At least then you can take the platform out of the "don't need a KB/mouse"-rant, but can address this to EA directly.

It really amazes me, how some other platform users are often concerned about their counterpart-platform users and try to protect them from a free-will decision.

Looking thru these comments here, PS3 owners seem to like the idea of KB/mouse support, while 360 prefer the controller. Or am I wrong here (except in the wrong zone)?

Isn't the 360 incompatible with standard m&kb or something? Cuz I figured that was the reason why there hasn't been much talk.

Finally, a fvcking RTS on the PS3, though not the RTS I wanted to see. Bring on Star Craft II Blizzard/Activision.
