IGN reviews Turok - If you don't move, this game can't see you

"There's no doubt that Turok can be fun, but ultimately, the feeling of satisfaction that comes with slitting a raptor's throat or pulling off a headshot with your bow is lost in the shuffle of swarming enemies, less than stellar visuals and a story that disappears. Do I recommend Turok for folks just looking for a game to run through with two shotguns in hand? Yes, but I wouldn't expect to walk away from playing with your mind blown."

Updates:

The X360 version got 7.3/10 overall score.

X360 version got 7/10 while PS3 got 6/10 to graphics. IGN's comments on the latter version:

"The Xbox problems complaints (jaggy corners and shiny guys) are here, and they're added to PS3-specific problems such as framerate issues, screen-tearing and worse textures."

yup, they can give the ps3 version 2/10 and the 360 version 7/10 but for all i care, that game turned out to be a major disappointment, turok 1 was awsome tho.

Enough with the marines on steroids, its getting old, we need more ninjas, samurai and pirates!

12 - I don't get it...

...ok, so the 360 has better gfx than on the PS3 but the game sux big hairy dogs balls on both consoles. What I don't get is why even bother? why not take that x-million dollar investment and pour it into a game that has a chance of actually breaking even.

Maybe they are just using a lackluster franchise to upskill illegal immigrants to become tomorrow's top developers. Or maybe someone made a bet saying they could make a crappier game than Transformers: The Game.

just hold off.. and find a way 2 get smash bros, and Street Fighter 4.. this game would have been destroyed in a few months time anyway.. with COD4, Halo, Orange Box, Bioshock' Resistance, and Gears, Unreal, and Crysis already out.. this game was doomed from the start.. same as Haze will be when the time comes.. hell people should be tired of shooters (for now) anyway.. expand your gaming minds lol.. street fighter 4, SSBB coming SOON

i don't think so.

i agree that the game is crap, but it should be a 6/10 or less.

of course, i could just be jaded because i'm suffering from FPS overload.

the genre was much cooler when it was niche, and developers were breaking ground and pushing the genre with almost every release. now, *EVERYBODY is making an FPS, and they're all the same (i just played Generic: Average FPS - i mean, Conflict: Denied Ops, and once again, i'm coming away with a "meh.")with no real defining characteristics about it.

i liked The Darkness, for example, because at least it tried to implement a new gameplay mechanic (the Darkness powers, etc).
