GameSpy gives 2.5/5 to Beowulf

GameSpy's Gabe Graziani writes:

"Licensed games based on upcoming epic films rarely do much to build our expectations, so we weren't terribly surprised to find that Beowulf doesn't swerve from the course. A sort of mash-up combining elements from the Tomb Raider and God of War series, Beowulf does very little to excite us by providing copious amounts of blood and gore (sometimes seemingly only for the sake of blood and gore), a liberal smattering of nudity and thumb-busting button-mashing mini-games."

"Our sights weren't set especially high for Beowulf, so at least it didn't disappoint. Even with the support of the upcoming feature film (which supposedly donated art assets), it still manages to oscillate between looking positively stunning to heinously ugly. Overall it's probably not worth checking out, but if you come out of the movie craving more of the cursed king, you'll probably be able to squeeze a modicum of enjoyment out of Beowulf. If that is worth $60 is another question."
