No Spore In 2007?

During Electronic Arts' financial conference call today, company execs stated that they will not be including the highly anticipated PC game Spore in their 2008 fiscal year plans. That means that EA is not currently planning on the game to be released between now and the end of the 2008 fiscal year which ends on March 31, 2008.

Spore, the evolution sim from Sims creator Will Wright, previously had a vague timetable for release for the second half of the 2007 calendar year. Update During the conference call's Q&A session EA execs refined Spore's current release date plans saying that the game is "right on the bubble with Q4, if not for Q1 in fiscal 09."
